Can anyone tell me about talking mickey in MK? I did not get a FP for this....should I if we are thinking of seeing him? I DID get FP for Mickey and friends in Epcot. My younger child is a bit hesitant when meeting characters/people dressed up etc. Anyone have kid like that? Would talking Mickey make it better or worse?? Thanks!

We all thought the talking Mickey was creepy. He's doing cards tricks, and it is just awkward. If I had a kid who was hesitant with characters, I wouldn't take the time to do that.

My kids loved him! Thought he was really cool. He asked my kids to bounce like Tigger with him. It was a fun experience in our case.

My grown up kids thought he was creepy too, they were kinda put off by it. I like it but rather canned. I think if a kid is already not sure about the characters this could make it even more difficult. I would stick with Epcot, it's a more open space and he can see all the characters, prepare better. Magic is a smaller room with a few other guests after a queue and then a holding room.

Another thing to know is he is not advertised at "talking" and we have had him actually talking only about 50% of the time.

My older daughter was creeped out by him too. I've witnessed more kids afraid than happy. I would stick with Epcot and skip this.

My kids, two and six, absolutely loved him. I don't want to reveal anything but Mickey spoke about a show that the kids loved. It was one real high-high-highlights of a great trip.

I wouldn't do it again. He's only programed to say a handful of things and it seemed like there was a bit of a delay. it took a while for him to figure out what he was going to say I think. Maybe they'll upgrade him in a few years.

Thank you everyone! This was helpful. It sounds like we are fine if we keep our plan and miss out on talking Mickey this time!

My 16 year old was creeped out as well...which made us laugh. The guest ahead of us was from Japan and when the CM announced that fact, Mickey said a few things in Japanese. THAT was very cool. I do think that if the child is a bit hesitant with characters already, this may be one to skip.
