This thread made my whole morning, and made me just that much more excited to go. I love this site and I love how everyone shares all these amazing little things that make the Disneyland experience that much more fun!!

Funny... I wonder what "Technology' they are waiting for to be able to put this into action. Kind of like James Cameron with his Avatar movie. He had that movie written well before Titanic even came out. He was just waiting for better graphics and technology to come out before actually producing it. So if Disney has had this patent since 1994 (And obviously before then they had the time to develop it) at the very least that is 16 years of waiting. That's quite scary actually.

I would take a guess that it may of taken some time to make the mouth movements silent. Controls have vastly improved with computer technology. think about how quiet your hard drive is compare an old IBM.

Also of note, Disney did not invent this, the inventors did and were paid for their invention by disney for the patent.

I was just reading the DPBlog and the Blogwriter mentions a couple times in the comments section that this will not be there next week and that it is a ways off from being implemented in the parks. boohoo

Aww, I was hoping it'd stick around for another week or two.
