Just curious what the general consensus is on this. I'll be going with a 2 year old. What I've seen of him looks super cute, but I'm also thinking that he could totally freak a little kid out.

Any experience?
:earsboy:

We went to MK in April and took my 2.5 yr old daughter to see Talking Mickey. Granted, she loves ALL characters, but she was particularly enthralled with this one! If your travel companion likes characters, I would say go for it. It's a cool experience for everyone!

I have a video of my daughter's experience with Talking Mickey. I can't upload it here (it's on my computer so it doesn't have a URL) but I would be glad to share it if you think it will help. :)

We took our boys last Nov and they were 3.5 and 1.5 at the time. They boys got a kick out of it. My fear is that now they'll want ALL the characters to start talking to them :-).

OK so no freak outs so far :) I could show her YouTube videos for prep, I guess. She did not like mickey coming near her when we went to Disney on Ice so I hope she grows out of it by the time we go!! (I wouldn't mind skipping the character meets, but I reeeeally want to eat at gg!)

Took my 3yo son to see him on his birthday and he absolutely loved him! He was so excited and a little awestruck. He didn't know what to do other than look up at him and smile as big as he could! I can't wait to take him back!!!

We took our DD in February. She turned 3, 2 weeks before we went. The talking Mickey was the 2nd character she saw, Mary Poppins being the first. She wasn't thrilled about him. She stayed back and stared at him. She didn't want to get close. She isn't a whiney kid and didn't cry but you could tell she was uncomfortable. The rest of the trip, when we were in line for all the other characters, her first question was always, "Are they gonna talk to me?". If the answer was (and always was except for the obvious ones) she was fine. It was soo funny though.. I'll try to figure out how to load pictures and I'll show you.

Not sure about the talking Mickey..

Wouldn't take a picture with him..

Likes the NonTalking Mickey.. She even checked his mouth before he got down on his knees. :goodvibes

Our daughter was a little floored by him and definitely was shocked that he was talking. Considering that every character she met didn't say a word, I think it caught her a little off guard. However, my experience is that kids are totally unpredictable regarding what they might like and dislike.

Talking Mickey was the highlight of my just turned 2 year old grandson. He loved him and the look on his face when Mickey called him by name was priceless! Mickey even did the "hotdog dance" with him. DD said it was worth every penny they spent all week to see how happy he was when he danced with Mickey :)

Akclayton-thanks for sharing. I imagined a similar response from mine. :) For a just turned 2 year old, she is very cynical! :) my genes!

These responses have made me think that if I warn her about the talking ahead of time and prep with YouTube, she might like him. Thanks everyone!
