Talkin' Hawaii

The whales seem to have been arriving earlier (as they've already been spotted this year) and leaving later. Prime season IS between December and mid-April, but there is always a chance of seeing them at different times. Maui is the best place to see them from as the channel that goes past Maui is their normal route, but you can see them from all the islands. If you are going in mid-May, you will still have a shot at seeing them. Another great company to tour with in Maui is Trilogy. They were fantastic on our snorkel trip a few years back. We're heading to Maui in late May...I don't have much hope in seeing a whale, but it would make my trip if I did.

We did the Trilogy snorkle trip to Molakini and we also had an unbelievable time. Crew was GREAT and the sail was perfect. Snorkled in the Carribean and not many can compare to Trilogy.....Thanks Diskidatheart for bring back a great memory...:flower3:

Our family also did the Trilogy snorkeling cruise to Lanai'i. It was fabulous. A highlight if not THE highlight of our Maui trip. Also loved Road to Hana, Haleakala, and the Old Lahaina Luau. Don't miss Mama's Fish House for dinner and the Paia Fish Market for lunch! Ahhhh...take me back. BTW, we stayed in Kaanapali at the Kaanapali Ali'i. Lovely, lovely.

........followed by a rather rousing after dinner halloween time at Margaritaville.:goodvibes

Luvin every minute of this adventure.......popcorn::

Thanks! I arrive on May 13. I'm going to check around & see if any of the companies still do whale watches at that point. I did sail with Trilogy 10 years ago, so I will definitely check with them again! I remember the cinnamon rolls!!!

I do remember enjoying the trip with Trilogy, even though it turned out to be a bad day for snorkeling (the water was cloudy). I'm definitely going to check them out again, thanks!

I was checking out some of those trips to Lanai. That wasn't really an option when I was there 10 years ago. Sounds very cool. And I also remember Mama's Fish House and the amazing view!!!! I'll check out the Paia Fish Market, too. Thanks! (I'm staying in Kihei. Renting friends' timeshare. Same place I stayed last time. The location was great then, hope it still is! I imagine Maui's changed a bit in 10 years!
