Ok there are 7 of us and trying to decide between 2 be Bonnett creek or connecting rooms at CSR. There is a $1100 price difference so it makes swallowing the Disney perks a little hard!!

Keep in mind, connecting rooms are never guaranteed. If that's a must for you, you'd be better off in the 2BR at Bonnett Creek.

Out of curiosity, why CSR? That's probably the highest priced moderate resort at this point. A different moderate resort or a value resort will provide the same on-site perks at likely a lower price difference.

Check the difference you may be paying at Bonnet Creek. I heard you pay extra to use their park shuttles, for 7 people, you also need airport transportation, extra cost if you rent a van or 2 cars, do they have parking and or resort fees? Plus fee for parking at the parks. Just make sure you’re comparing apples to apples.

Two things come to my mind. Having seperate rooms will give you some personal space. And down time. Having early FP bookings. But the main thing, with 7 people if you stay at a WDW resort you have access to Disney transportation. So, everyone is free to come and go as they wish. If someone wants to sleep in or leave early for a break they can. Renting cars if someone wants to leave, everyone has to. I’m not sure how flexible Bonnet Creek transportation is. But my guess it’s not as frequent as Wdw is.

When I’ve gone with friends and have on my res traveling with....ive either gotten connecting rooms or room in close proximity. I actually never request connecting rooms but have gotten them anyway.

CSR will not promise you connecting rooms and...in my experience...we have never had connecting rooms when requested. We were in the same section (Casitas, Ranchos, Cabanas) but not connecting. This is true for all the resorts. It will depend on crowd size, previous bookings, etc.

They. Said connecting guaranteed due to kids ages. It seemed to be the best prices for the dates we chose. That is if parks will be open in June.

Unfortunately, CMs will say that but it is never guaranteed by the resort. Many here will attest to that. Kids ages do not matter, because you still will have at least two 18+ adults in your party, which is required to book two rooms. The assumption is that the two 18+ adults will split up between each room in the event they are not connecting, so you should always be prepared for that possibility. They do try hard to accommodate the request, but its still a risk. If you decide to try it anyway, just make sure the request for connecting rooms is notated on your reservation by calling in advance of your trip.

We've stayed at both places (although CSR was 7 years ago). We loved CSR when we went although the resort can have a lot of walking to get to the main lobby if you're in the back (Ranchos) section but that didn't bother us. The resort is beautiful and (at the time) transportation was fast.

Our stay at WBC was more recent in 2017. We had a 2 bedroom for the 4 of us and loved our stay. We had our own car so transportation wasn't an issue. The drive to parking for the parks was short and we actually were able to get to and from WBC faster than relying on Disney transportation. (The downside, of course, is you have to pay for parking at the parks.) We did not pay a resort fee (we rented points) and there was no charge for parking. We liked having the space to stretch out and the ability to heat up meals easily at the resort. The kids absolutely loved the pool with the water slide. We went back to the resort mid-day several times and actually found it easier and more convenient than relying on Disney transportation.

I think for us it boils down to how long we'll be there, how busy it will be and how much we'll be relying on fast passes/rope drop to get things done. Our WBC stay was a 7 night trip and we spent a bit of time at the resort relaxing. We knew we would rope drop any rides that were important to us if we didn't get FPs and, with our own vehicle, knew we didn't need to rely on Disney transportation completely. We have a short, 4 night September trip planned where we're staying at Pop because our focus is on hopping between HS and Epcot, we will rely on the skyliner for most of our transportation, and we don't plan on being in the room except for sleeping.

If it were me and it was a longer stay where we would have our own vehicle (that would hold everyone so you weren't paying parking x2), and everyone was willing to make rope drop happen, I would strongly consider WBC. If it's a short trip, you prefer to sleep in, won't have a car or know your family will split up I would lean more towards CSR.

We used to stay at Bonnet Creek all the time but more recently, we've been staying onsite. However, I will say that nothing beats the space that WBC provides. We loved every stay there. It was always convenient getting to/from the parks but we always had a car so that was never an issue. I'm not sure how convenient their park transportation is and for 7 ppl it can get expensive.

I think it depends on whether you will have your own car, whether you need the 60 day FP etc. My thought is that you will have a wonderful trip no matter where you stay and once you book your resort, you can then tailor your trip accordingly. We tended to cook more when staying at Bonnet Creek and just picking a few meals to eat in the parks. Our kids were younger when we stayed there and now that they are teens, it's easier to give them some freedom if we stay onsite. Only you know your family and what you think will work best. My other thought is will this be your only trip in the next few years? If so, then splurge and stay onsite but if you will be back in 2 years or so, then stay offsite this time and try for onsite the next.

Thank you all. Honestly we are now completely nervous about everything as we pushed the trip back to June 1. But with everything still in limbo we wonder if parks will be open or if it would be a wise idea to even go.
We got super cheap flights which is why we picked these dates prior to all of this exploding.

How much will the 7 of you want to split up? That is always more of a challenge staying off site.
