Talk to me about these new hamburger buns

Way too much energy has been put into this topic. It's a bun, people. Just a bun. There is nothing wrong with them.

They were definitely using them when I was there in March of this year. I decided to grab a burger at Pecos Bills rather than go to the Wave with the rest of my family and I was bummed because the bun just kind of fell apart and made the whole eating process a little messy!

Obviously, it wouldn't ruin my trip but I was bummed at the time because I was looking forward to the burger!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I hate the new buns and I REALLY hate being forced to eat healthy when I am on vacation.

I eat healthy all year long. I have not been to a McDonalds in many years.

When I go to Disney I want to enjoy it and a cheap beef chicken mix hot dog on a crappy bun does not bring back the memories of trips to Disney with my parents as a kid.

It makes me say what happened to the good buns and hot dogs at Casey's?
I reminds me that I miss the hotdog cart on Main Street in Magic Kingdom.

They should offer the choice, if people want the healthy bun they should have to ask for it.

The whole grain buns really aren't bad, but - and this is a biiiig BUT for an operation the size of Disney World - they don't stay soft, moist, and fresh-tasting as long as white buns. I use whole grain buns at home, but I buy them the day we're going to use them or a day before. They don't keep any longer than that before they start getting crumbling and overly dry.

I think when Disney first made the switch they failed to account for the shorter shelf-life and were serving a lot of buns that were well within the "freshness" window for white breads but had been around just a little too long for whole grain. It seems like they've managed to adjust, though. On our Jan '08 trip we only had one CS burger meal (Pecos Bills) and the buns were horrible, but on our Dec '09 trip the buns were still whole grain but fresh enough to actually taste good and stay in one piece.

Its not just CS places. They had them last year at the Plaza Restaurant. As others have said, they don't TASTE bad, but they are thin, a bit hard (stale) and completely fall apart about 3 bites in.

Whatever happened to the no carb phase?

Seriously, I almost always eat my burgers and dogs without the bun- same great taste less filling

i agree, the buns suck. who wants to eat healthy on vacation? not me, and if u did you'd probably get something other than a hamburger or hotdog, lol.

WHy not have delicious honey buns or anything other than a dry wheat bun.

Wonder why they did this b/c i can buy wheat/multigrain bread and it will have 1 or less grams of fiber, the same as white.. you gotta read the label to get the fiber on certain breads. just b/c it's wheat its not significantly healthier besides not having bleached grain.
