Storytellers is the only character meal we didn't do last time, so I am considering it this time. Which characters are there? Is the food decent? I know everyone has their own opinions etc, just trying to get an overall feel for it. FTR we aren't really breakfast people, we prefer lunch or dinner food.

I do know Kenai and Koda are at Storytellers, right? DD had a love affair with Brother Bear last year and would probably enjoy seeing them again, though we could take care of that for free at the Totem Ceremony thing... but depending on the other characters there it might be a good option for us.

We saw Kenai and Koda, the raccoon from Pocahontas, and Terk the gorilla from Tarzan.

We were at the last seating for breakfast, and we were told by the kind hostess that Chip and Dale leave almost an hour before that, so we wouldn't be seeing them.

Also, the time of the last seating is also the cut-off point for ordering from the menu, so I wasn't able to order from the menu like I'd planned. The buffet was fine...had veggie sausage which was nice (we're vegetarian), and eggs, and the server brought us over pancakes and mickey waffles. She said it trickily though, and I thought we were getting Mickey pancakes...she asked if we wanted "Mickey waffles and pancakes"...you can see where that could be tricky. :) Anyway, rather than waiting at the buffet for those, she brought the over.

Coffee there is Nescafe, but it's a special blend, according to the server, and it was actually quite good.

The bears led people in a little game along with the ranger...DS had great fun (he was 3.5 y.o. at the time) even though he hadn't seen Brother Bear yet.

We've also done the totem thing, and I'm sure if the animatronic-type things for the actual ceremony had been working it would have been good, but as it was it was mainly a meet/greet with the bears. And that was fine, too, but it was more fun for DS to see them "in action".

Should we do it again we'll go a bit earlier than the last seating (though we like having just a granola bar for breakfast, then have a late bigger breakfast to see us through lunch), I'll order from the menu instead of the very expensive buffet, and hopefully we'll see more characters.

Have fun!

We had the first seating on a weekday. We saw Kenai and Koda, Chip and Dale, Meeko (the racoon from Pocahontas) and Terk.

We did the buffet and everyone was happy. Can't comment on the coffee because I stuck to orange juice.

To be honest, it's the best character meal food that we've had at either DL or WDW. A big plus is that you can either have the buffet or order off an a-la-carte menu. The restaurant itself is large and very pretty.:)

I like it alot..and if you read my tag, you'll find out who my favorite character was. They also take the kids on a kinda conga line thorugh the restuarant. It's a very nice atmosphere and you should try it.

It's a nice, quiet atmosphere. The restuarant is cozy and earthy to go lend itself to the sort of woodsy/jungly feel of the characters, Aside from the previously mentioned Koda, Kenai, Chip and Dale, we have also briefly seen Baloo, in the past we have seen Rafiki, Meeko pops up here and there, long ago Timon would pop in, and I have heard a rumor that an occasional Br'er character strolls in from time to time.

It is nice to have the option of ordering off the menu or getting the buffet (I've done both), but I thought the off-the-menu choices were too expensive for their what they were (basically think of a Denny's Grand Slam that costs $17:scared1: ), and it almost made more sense to just get the buffet. The buffet food was okay. I was not blown away by it but it wasn't bad in any way. Most people who eat there seem to like it a lot. I prefer Storytellers as a regular restaurant at lunch or dinner than for the character stuff, but that's probably because I don't care too much about Koda and Kenai (Chip, Dale and Baloo - end even Meeko - pop up at other character meals so I can see them elsewhere). However, if you have a child who is into Brother Bear, I have a feeling you'll hit the jackpot with this character meal, so you should definitely try it!:thumbsup2

We have now tried all of the character meals and this is the only one that I would not do again, because of the lack of characters (in our one experience). The food was really good however we had to camp out for almost two hours to be able to see all the characters and feel like we got our monies worth.
You can see Koda and Kenai outside in CA. DS enjoyed the Brother Bear ceremony and there is a brief meet and greet at the end so DS got to see them at the ceremony. I think we would rather do that again.
We are fans of Lilo and Stitch and after this last trip we had 8 characters at Minnie's. Minnie's was a little chaotic crowd wise but once it mellowed out we got to play hangman and tic tac toe with Chip and Dale, dance with Captain Hook, etc. The whole time we were at Storyteller's there was minimal interaction and we were sitting right in the center of the "action".

It's my favorite character meal. The banana stuffed french toast is incredible as well as the huevos rancheros. YUM! I like that you can order off the menu and not do the buffet. The coffee was the best I had found at the resort.

In addition to the characters listed above, we have also seen Pinocchio and Timon.

..don't forget teh Princess breakfast at Ariel's Grotto..are they still doing that? We went last May and the kids all loved it. We may go in Sept and I was thinking we'd do Minnies..but DGS would rather see the Princesses again! I think he has a little crush...

Loved it! GREAT food and the Brother Bear characters were there too. My teens indulged me because they are well fed here last June:

We dine there frequently and love the breakfast - I am not a breakfast food person and I always find plenty to eat. We've never been disappointed by the food and my girls love the character interaction. We've always felt it to be top notch.

BTW - we have never seen characters other than Koda, Kenai, Chip Dale, Meeko, and Turk - and of course, the Ranger and his trouts.....
