Talk to me about Sanaa...

Just booked a 525 dinner in late August for 9 - my parents, sister and BIL who are adventurous eaters and I think will appreciate the different choices, and my kids and nephews (ages 13, 9, 3, and 1.5). The kids don't have adventurous tastes but I thought they'd love to watch the animals as they eat. But that brings me to my main concern. .. how likely is it that we will be seated in an area with a decent view? Or do most tables have a fairly good view?

I love Sanaa. You can always ask for window table but so does everyone else. There may be a lengthy wait. Also you aren't guaranteed the animals will be out or you will be able to see them from where you are. The outdoor space for them to roam is large. They move all over based upon time of day, where the food is, how they feel etc.

I pay good money to go to Disney! Surely I can expect that measures will be taken to lure them over to me!

Totally kidding about the above (although I'm sure that there have been others who haven't joked about this! )... I'm more wondering about the chances of being seated at a table where we can get a decent view IF the animals decide to roam around.

We ate there three years ago, and were seated around the same time your dinner is for. We were able to enjoy seeing the animals no problem.

We LOVE Sanaa! We've gone twice--first time we sat in a booth that was not near the windows but it was dark so we didn't mind, last trip we were seated at a round table (there are 5 of us) more toward the middle of the restaurant for lunch and could see the animals. With a group your size I would think they'd need to put you at a couple of tables toward the middle so seems like you'd have a decent shot at a good view. If it was me I would check in early and ask for window tables. Good luck!

When we dined there we got a lovely window view & saw animals. You also get to step outside to their animal viewing area before/after your meal if you like. If you have to wait for your reservation time, they'll give you a buzzer to let you know when to come in. After our dinner there, it became dark, & when we went out for more viewing, they lent us a pair of night-vision goggles.

We ended up being seated a while after our reservation time so it was dark outside - but we wandered outside to the animal area and saw them walking right by, and they had a CM form botswana who lit the fire pit, and talked about his home country - so by the time we were seated and eating, we were really hungry and felt we had had our share of the animals! The food was really very good, and we had son with us who was 6 at the time who also ate well!

It looks like you have a larger party. I don't know if they pull them together, but I recall the bulk of the tables right at the window seating 4. Still, there are other tables in the restaurant with decent views. It will also be August so you'll still have plenty of daylight to see animals at that point.

You've nailed it by saying you have some folks that appreciate Adbenturous options. We love Sanaa, but we are adventurous. The bread service is awesome! They are well known for it. While there are some tables that have better views than others, there are lots of tables where the animals are visible.

I don't think there is much of a problem getting a table next to the window at 5:25, generally. The only issue is the size of your party, as TiggerTrigger said, b/c I don't remember any tables next to the window that held that many people. Maybe you could split the res into two parties? Even then, I'm not positive that works with more than 4 per table. You might have to split into 3 groups. We ate there twice in one week, and they definitely will not put you next to the window unless you ask though, in our experience. asking politely will get it.

One of my favorite restaurants! I've always had wonderful service and flavorful food!!! I just wish they hadn't changed the dessert menu!

One on the nest restaurants at Disney. There are windows everywhere and as PP said enjoy the hotel as well! Walk outside and the cast member and animals are amazing.
