we have a toddler and a five year old!

what do I need to think about for our packing list? I want to pack light, but have what we need.

the only thing I know I MUST bring is the crib tent to put on the packnplay, or nobody will sleep a wink!

:rotfl: :wizard:

We will be there Jan 20-27 for our 3rd winter trip and we love the winter at WDW. Think Layers, cool in the am ,warmer in the day and cool at night. a few pairs of jeans, few pairs of shorts, t-shirts, as well as a hoodie or twol.I always take gloves and for a little one I would add a tobogan too. DS has swam every Jan trip but it is cold on getting out and I do not think I would let a toddler but that is JMHO. Try not to over pack. WE so did our first winter trip but do much better now.

We used to go in January until DS and DD hit junior high.....clothes that can be layered, "favorite toys or snuggies" from home--especially if needed to get to sleep. consider bringing glow items from home (Dollar Tree has loads of choices for $1) and other small toys for a surprise after nap and/or evening meal. Swim suits and robes to pull on (haven't met a kid yet who can walk past a pool each day without wanting in), prescription medicine or at least over-the-counter for cough, runny noses, and headaches. Lots of film for the camera, patience and the ability to just watch your kids' reactions to things they see (both good and not-so-good ie. the villian characters) and the outlook that "we can't do it all in one trip!" :cool1: Our DS is now 19 and DD 16 and still we get excited about the next trip like it was our first :thumbsup2

Plan to do laundry then to cut back on the quantity of clothing you'll have to bring--especially at that time of year when you'll need to be prepared for warm and cold.

We were there Jan 5-13, 2006 with DD5 and DS3. We're from cold Illinois so we wore medium weight coats on the plane which we ended up wearing two of our days. We also packed hooded sweatshirt jackets the kids wore most nights. We swam at least two of the days. The daytime highs the week we were there ranged from the lower 40s to the mid 70s. We LOVED the cool temps!!!! We went in late April the year before and between the crowds and the heat we HAD to leave the parks for a break every day. January was so cool and uncrowded we went to the parks at opening and stayed until we were done between 3 and 6 and then went back to the resort for dinner and an early bedtime. I thought January was awesome!!!!!

Oh, watch the 10 day weather forecast at weather.com, but plan to pack mostly long pants and at least a few long sleeves or sweatshirts.
