Talk to me about Mobile Ordering...

Ok, so I know there is a Mobile ordering system for most all the CS locations at WDW, and it is available at each of the ones we will be using in 2 weeks when we go. I know that you can put in the order via the app and that you can use the DDP credits to pay. However, I remember reading somewhere that you can set up your orders in advance and then just tell the app when you are at the location and they will make your food then. But everything I see on the app, when i make up our expected order, it wants me to pay. But since we are using the DDP, i dont want to pay and there doesn't seem to be a way to tell it we will be using our credits at that time. So, could someone walk me through what i am doing wrong? Is it just BOG that you order CS in advance and the rest you order on that day but via the app to skip the line? There are 6 of us, so i was hoping to get the basics of our meal in the app (what the kids want, items DH and i will probably choose, etc) so we dont have to stand around for 20 minutes reading the menu to each other from our phones to get the order placed. Is that not possible? I cant figure it out.....

There's a little video on this page that walks you through it. I would guess you need to have an active dining plan (i.e. be on property) in order to see the option.

You can only use mobile ordering for that day for the CS except BoG which can be ordered ahead.
Your DDP option will not be active till you are at the park and the DDP is active, then it will show as a payment option.
So you can use the mobile ordering app to order your lunch anytime that morning and pay for it with your DDP. when you get to the restaurant, click the I'm here button and they will text you when your food is ready. Once you use it once, it makes sense and is extremely handy.

That would be nice. So far, it can go on the DDP or directly on your credit card.
In time, on your room may be an option as originally putting it on the DDP wasn't an option.

Yeah, hopefully so. Normally a credit card would be fine, but I've got a Disney Gift Card to use for all dining and shopping this trip, so I charge to the room and then pay it off with the gift card.

I refuse to use it until it recognizes proper discounts attributed to your account.

So that pretty much means I only use it at Satuli Canteen because there no discounts for anything there.

You can use it with no dining plan. If you do so, you have to pay by credit card via the phone when you place the order. You can't charge it to you room even if you're staying onsite.

When you get there they will just ask if you are using the ddp and usually scan your band to take your credits off of your account. The mobile ordering at BOG is a different process because you can order 30 days ahead. We've always thought the mobile ordering for BOG is super helpful. You get to bypass all of the people that sit and take awhile to decide what they want to eat.

We went in March and I just picked all of the meals/drinks we wanted to order. For example, I wanted a kids meal and my niece (9) wanted an adult meal so I just ordered both and we told our waitress who ordered what (since QS meals aren't specified for kids vs. adults).

You can only pre-order for breakfast and lunch at BoG, and alcohol is not available at either of those meals.

You pay when you get there, so no problems with DDP.
