Talk to me about Autographs

We usually get spiral bound 5x7 scrapbooks on eBay. They have blank covers my girls decorated. We have the characters sign only on the right hand side of the page. Then we can put the photo on the left hand side later. We also rubber band the used pages together so it's always on the next blank page and ready.

If you're going to add photos, spiral is the way to go. We got the official Disney books once and they don't lay flat with photos added- the extra thickness makes them fan out. Without photos, though, they are fine.

I used some 5x7 card stock from Michaels held together with a binder clip. The clickable sharpie was great for not losing the cap. After each day I removed the signatures from the stack. When we got home, we used some fun scissors and scrapbook the autographs with our pictures that were taken with the same character.

We did autograph books for our first trip and the kids never touched them after. A friend suggested bringing a pillowcase that your children can use at home and that's what we've done since then. For our last trip, I ordered ones from eBay that had my daughter and nieces' favorite characters embroidered on the end with their name and the year of our trip. If you decide to go this route, definitely make sure to have plenty of different color sharpies and something firm like a mini photo album or notebook to wrap the pillowcase around, giving the character a firm place to autograph.

I thought my kids , dd 7 and ds3, would love the autographs and prepped myself for the inevitable waits. Turns out neither one had any interest. They enjoyed meeting their favs, but still didn't see the purpose in a signature. Wish I'd asked before I bought all the supplies

This is what we used for my daughter when we went in June.

There were a few characters missing out of it and those she had sign on the inside covers. I've heard of people buying this book, making a few extra pages and getting it rebound.

Since my daughter was only 2 she could understand who signed her book based on their picture. It also served as a distraction as she would look through the book as we waited in line for another character.
