Talk Split Stays with me...

So we just booked, staying 10 days at the CR and to stay within our budget are splitting our stay between a garden wing standard room (4 nights) and a tower theme park view room (5 nights), with 10 day park hopper tickets and Disney dinning.

Am I correct that essentially we have two different stays at the end of the first we will need to check out, settle our room charges and then check back in later in the day?

Not worried about packing up and room changing.

My question is more around tickets and dinning as the article I found on splitting stays was before magic bands.

1) Dinning is 180 days +10 so we should be able to book all dinning for our stay once it opens up, correct?

2) Fast Passes - 60 days out can we book fast passes for all 10 days or will we only be able to book the first 5 days and then the next 5 days 60 days prior to the 2nd half of our stay? Might we get 3 fast pass selections for the room change day?

3) Dinning credits, do the first set of dinning credits expire midnight of the day we room change?

None of this would be a deal breaker just want to know what to expect.

1. I think dining will be 5 days - then you'll lose all unused credits and the next 5 days begin and starts over again You won't be able to book 10 days worth of ADRS.

Good to know about the FP... missed the "up to" when I was reading about ADRs

1. ADRs are actually 180+length of stay, up to 10 days. You have two stays, so two 180 days. Two ADR dates.

2. FP+ you'll be able to book all 10 days at 60 days. Different system from ADRs.

3. Dining credits: You have until 11:59PM of checkout of your first stay to use those dining credits associated with your first stay. If you have Dining on your second stay, you cannot access ANY of those credits until ALL of the credits from your first stay are used, or until 11:59PM of the checkout day of that first stay. This includes wanting to use QS credits from dining plan #2 before using all snacks from #1, or use a credit from #1 and from #2.

Additional notes: You will be homeless from checkout the morning you switch until after 3/4PM that day when your second room is ready.

Good to know about using up all credits from # 1.

MIL and FIL are staying at the CR too so being homeless not as much of an issue - essentials for the day will be in their room.

Credits also not as much of a worry as we can borrow from them if needed although based on the past my concern is actually more about using all the credits from #1 so we may end up buying them snacks in the first half.

We're so excited for our stay and this was the perfect compromise to get the the convenience of the CR + the TPV we feel in love last time and stay on budget.

I just wanted to say that this sounds like a wonderful trip and a good compromise to stay within budget. We do split stays every trip and change resorts with no problem so I'm sure that switching rooms within the same resort will go just fine for you guys. Have an awesome trip and happy planning!
