We're going to WDW in November and have an 8:05 am ADR for CRT. Given the new rope drop procedures currently in place, and assuming for now that those procedures will remain the same for our trip in November, What is my plan of action to get out of CRT and hopefully beat some of the crowds in line for FairyTale Hall?

Which direction should I go/ where do I head when I exit CRT? I've never eaten there so I'm not sure where the exit is.

Also, what time do you think I need to exit in order to reach the rope at Fantasyland in time to beat some crowds?

Thanks!

Why not just plan to use a FP+ for A&E? Seems like the least headache!

We are using comped tickets and won't be able to book any FP+ until we are on-site for the 1st day of our trip. There's basically zero chance of scoring an A&E FP+ at that point...

I kinda hate to think of you rushing through your lovely breakfast at CRT to get to A&E. Would it be possible to do that M&G another day when you can hit rope drop and go with the crowds?

The CRT entrance and exit are at the back of the castle, which is about 15 feet from Fantasyland. As soon as you walk out there will be a rope about 15/20 feet in front of you. There will most likely already be a line, they will walk everyone around the carousel together.

Thanks, everyone. Seeing A&E is not a top priority for us, so we won't rush breakfast. I do plan to ask for the check as soon as we order though so we aren't waiting for that.

I just figured IF we get out in time and IF we make it to the line before it's too much of a line, we'll do it. But we won't tell the girls the plan ahead of time so they won't be asking if it doesn't work out.

Wouldn't a FP+ for Anna and Elsa solve the problem? i thought once you select a time, you skip the wait. No? (I am new to Disney so maybe I don't understand how FP work)

Not to hijack the thread, but what are the new rope drop procedures and when did they start?

You are correct, but OP mentioned above that they are using comp tickets so they are not eligible to book FP+ ahead of time.

Yeah I am curious as to what the new RD procedure is? I haven't heard a thinkg about this

To prevent people from running to A&E the CM form a line and walk the RD crowd up Main St., through the Castle, and around the carousel. The same is done, on a much smaller scale, just outside of the Castle for those who have pre-opening ADRs.

This is new? Pre Opening ADR's guests are let in the park early and can walk up MS USA to the castle and go to breakfast once they get out the Rope is still up in Fantasyland. I remember when i ran up main street to wake up tinkerbell we were stopped at a second rope at the castle this was in 2008

the same procedure is done at HS for TSM so i am just not sure that its new unless there is a dedicated line fr A&E then yes that is new.

Same question but on a different note. We have an 8:05 CRT re but do not want to meet A &E(it is just dh and I) . Are we also stuck in the line to go to A& E? In other words are we forced to walk to A& E 1st before we can do anything else ? Where is A & E located ? We were planning for either Winnie the Pooh, Under the Sea or Peter Pan as our initial ride. Would any of those help avoid the madness ?

A&E are in Fantasyland along with all the other 3 rides you just mentioned.

I was just there earlier this month and had 8:20am reservations for CRT. We got out and there were only a few people standing by the rope right in front of the carousel. I thought, "What luck!" Just as we moved up to the rope, a swarm of people came through the castle tunnel and pushed us up against the rope. Once the rope was dropped and people began to move around the carousel, the people who were off to the left had the best advantage as they were on the outside lane if you can imagine it like a race track and as they came around the bend they were able to get to the entrance faster than those of us who were hugging the edge of the carousel. Does that make sense? That being said, the entrance to get into the line is so narrow and imagine all these people swarming around the carousel and then trying to fit into the narrow ropes of the entrance. I was AT the rope and by the time we got into the ropes of the entrance, i was told it was 2 hours from where I was standing. I gave up and got out of line. My advice if you just want to go to other rides is to wait for the crowd/mob to swarm through. The good news is that we were able to do other rides with no wait since it was so early. Good luck!!!

Yikes, that sounds crazy. (And also pretty comical, imagining a mob of people speed-walking around the carousel like a bunch of toy soldiers on overdrive.)
We have an 8:05 ADR at CRT, but just plan to do Small World, Peter Pan, etc afterwards. I will take your advice and hang back until the A&E crowd passes. Unless I can't get a FP+ for them, then I'll be one of those toy soldiers spinning around the carousel myself!

My husband and I just did this last Wednesday. We had an 8:10 ADR and we arrived pretty early (7:20) but were still lined up behind about 12 other families. When they allowed us to enter under the train, we walked rather briskly, stopped to get our picture taken in front of the castle, and arrived as the second family at the castle. We checked in and were waiting for Cinderella by 8 am sharp. The Dad in front of us was already anxious, as they planned to eat quickly and get to the rope to see A&E, he was fretting when Cinderella was not there for the photo at 8:01!!

We were seated and watched about 8 other families get seated after us, but they got their waiters, and therefore their food, sooner. No big deal for us, but just to show how even with all the early arrival and planning, you may still encounter little delays here and there. We were out of the castle by 8:45, and we went outside to the rope, which stretched from Sir Mickeys over to the Castle Couture store. When the CMs dropped the rope, and everyone started walking, we went way over to the left of the group, and they walked us all around the carousel. The A&E folks continued over into a line for that, and my husband and I were the only ones who just headed into New Fantasyland. I turned to look before we split from the group, and as the PP said, a huge swarm of people arrived right behind us and were almost in a run. It looked like the start of a stroller race!!!:lmao:

Hi! I have a 1st timer question. We have an ADR at CRT at 8:05 am on July 4th. How early should we arrive at MK and is there a special line for people who have ADRs so we don't get stuck in the crowd just trying to get in the park? I'm nervous about being late for our reservation.
