Talk me into POFQ....Please

We have stayed at the values twice and have himmmmed and hahhhhhed over the last 2 months on if we should spend the extra for a moderate.

Now we have elimated CB as it is soooo big and CS I understand gets alot of conventions so I have decided if we do a mod it will be POFQ...

Now I just need to be talked into it.....Please help.

My wife will not go back to a value (we've oly been to POP) because our one experience was with extreme noise levels all night. I can sleep through anything but she won't have it. Also, staying at the moderates gets you a better pool and a local sit-down restaurant. We stayed at POFQ once and loved the boat ride to Riverside for breakfast at Boatrights. Great Eggs Benedict and Stuffed French Toast and a very leisurely way to get a good breakfast and therefore good start toa Disney day.

I stayed at POFQ last Sept on a solo trip. I loved having the fridge and coffee pot in the room. I hate motels, but I thought this one was very nice. Very quiet and the rooms are beautiful. Bus service was VERY good. I have never stayed at a value, but picked out POFQ because it is much smaller and not so much walking is required. I was very satisfied with my stay and am planning on taking my mom for Mother's Day--her first trip--and have ressies at the POFQ. Hope this helps and I'll be glad to answer any questions!

hi - we love pofq - my dad only wants to go to wl - but when we're not with family we go to pofq - they have boats to downtown disney - bike riding back and forth all around po - and we love having the food court - at the carribean it's difficult because you have to pay at each station - dixie landings is bigger and gets more crowded - but pofq is just the right size - you will enjoy it so much

POFQ is beautifully themed, landscaped, and quaint. The pool is great for kids and has a nice slide. You can also use POR pool which is a 10 min walk from POFQ or you can ride the boat there. The rooms have a curtain divider between bathroom and beds area and there are two sinks. I have not stayed at All Stars or POP yet (will be staying at POP this May) but I certainly have enjoyed my stays at POFQ - just as much as my stays at AKL and WL. You should give it a try!

We have stayed at POFQ, we love it. It is quiet and beautiful. Our kids love the slide and arcade.

PoFQ is a beautiful resort! (maybe u can find a discount..ap or AAA) You will feel like you are on this amazing vacation. It is not just some theme (ie music movies) The whole PO resort really makes you feel like you have been transported. The nice thing about POFQ is it has easy acess to PoR so you can get the use of both resorts. The theme is family friendly and romantic They have a great pool w/ this dragon slide kids flip out for!

You can take a stroll along the sassagoula river (or hop on a steam boat) to riverside and admire the beautiful architecture, u really feel as if u are in Louisiana. We rented bikes that was alot of fun. My BF went fishing @ the fishing hole @PoR and had a blast.

As someone mentioned the breakfast @ boatwrights is great. You also can hop a boat to DD and just relax and unwind on the way (u can see a bit of Saratoga springs)..and last but not least it is not a huge property so everything is convenient!

Having returned a little over two weeks ago, let me talk you into this beautiful resort.

In general, some big differences between a value and a moderate:

1. Bigger rooms - I was worried that even the moderate room would feel cramped with 3 (large) adults. It wasn't, there was plenty of room for us, and the huge pile of luggage we brought. There was also lots of dresser and closet space.

2. Double sinks - It was really nice to be able to spread out.

3. Free fridge and mini coffee maker (with free coffee everyday) - so helpful in the mornings and great for storing leftovers.

4. Slide at the pool Yes, I am just a big kid.

5. Ceiling fan. I like my room cool and my mom likes her room warm. With the fan we could keep the room warm but the breeze from the fan made it okay for me.

Now specifically about POFQ:

1. It is the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed at. It is charming and sophisticated at the same time.

2. It is small. It was an easy walk anywhere on this property and everything seemed very centrally located.

3. Wonderful, friendly staff - I know you find them all over Disney, but the staff at the hotel registration and in the gift shop were all so nice. A lot of Disney magic happening at this hotel.

4. Beignets - enough said.

5. Boat service to DTD. Very nice and relaxing ride (assuming you are okay with boats).

My advice - Just do it! I took my mom and dad here for vacation. My dad wanted to stay at a value (even though I was paying for it). I insisted on a moderate and I am very glad that I picked POFQ, it was (without being too enthusiastic) PERFECT!

Just my opinion.

POFQ was the first resort we ever stayed at probably 11 years ago. That's when it was still called Port Orleans and PO was Dixie Landings. We still think that was one of our best stays. WDW can be a little overwhelming and it was nice to be on a smaller property after the parks. It is very beautiful as said earlier here, also has a great pool slide. You can also rent bikes and ride along the canal. I think you can take a boat or ferry to DTD? I would check in case I'm remembering incorrectly. Since it's way smaller than the values, the food court is actually enjoyable.
