Just finally realized it's only $210ish for a 10day exp/no hopping MYW ticket. (It takes me a while to catch on). DS & I will be in WDW for 2wks mid/end of Aug w/out a car so will be relying on doing all Disney.
I was doing the itinerary with only 5park days (not necessarily hopping), some pool days, etc. But 10days ticket would still keep me out of the parks on the wknds. We could just go for a few hrs M-F both wks if thats all we wanted to do.

I can save our park hopping/no expire park hopper tickets that I paid $200 for 5days for a future trip (MYW is soo much cheaper!)

What do you guys think? do I go for it? I was also thinking of buying (1) 10day and getting an AP w/DVC disc (umm DH I "have" to go back within a yr!)

I can bring back old hoppers in case we want a Typhoon Lagoon day - we have 12 of those days left

Going back within a year? 13 or more days altogether? Want hopping? Get the annual pass and do not buy any MYW passes.

The no-expire 10 day (no hopping, no plusses) costs $330 (incl. tax), not $210.

If you are going to be there for 10 or more days and do not need hopping, get the 10 day Expiring pass, $223 tax included.

Excellent idea, use the plusses on old hoppers. Then you don't need premium MYW or premium AP. But be v-e-r-y c-a-r-e-f-u-l not to insert an old pass into a theme park turnstile during the lifespan of the 10-day pass or annual pass as you will waste a day.

Isn't your son a teen? My son is 13 and going to WDW without visiting DisneyQuest isn't an option for us. I'm sure we'll go to DQ at least 4 times when we're there in April.

If you get the AP, and use plus options from old hoppers, you won't be able to visit DQ without paying extra.

yes I have thought of that -
we could buy DQ tickets to use on 1 of our days when we dont go in the parks

I can see 10 Day expiry tix for your length of stay, but I would never be able to do it without Hopping - That's just our style of doing the World tho. If you don't usually hop, that's not an issue. But if you are used to Hopping, I think it'd be very difficult to be locked into 2 weeks of not doing that.

To us, it just makes sense that if your are going to return to WDW later that you buy the 10 day Park Hopper. We are going in May for 5 days and are planning to buy the 10 day with no expire and park-hopping options. That way on our next trip our tickets will be paid for. This will enable us to stay at a deluxe hotel on our next trip. We usually stay at PO-FQ or PO-Riverside. We will pay a little bit more now but save a whole lot for later.

For the length of your stay the 10 day expiring ticket seems PERFECT. I LOVE the park hopping feature, but since you are there for that long I think you will be fine without it. I'd go for it!

That is exactly what we are doing. That way were are not mandated by the expiration of an AP as to when we have to return in '06. You don't get some of the perks with the MYW pass that you get with the AP but you are also not stuck to particular dates (which may not work with your schedule in the next year.)

I think in your situation, a 10-day no exp. MYW pass sounds like a great idea.

If you are going to take advantage of the AP discount for rooms, then I'd go the AP route. If you are strictly staying DVC, then do the 10 day no-expire. We always park hop, so paying the $35 extra per ticket is worth it. For a 10 day ticket, you are only paying an extra $3.50 per day to park hop. If one park is too crowded, it's nice to have the option to go somewhere else.

I know that for me, no hopping could never be an option. Being confined to one park :earseek: I think you should definitely consider the hopping option.

Plus, you would have to miss one of the EMH parks on Wednesday since one opens early and a different one stays open late.

plus you can park hopa nd go again within 12 months with no additional ticket cost. About 8 days is a break even point for APs.

Check it out, you may end up with tow WDW trips instead of ONE and 10-20 days WITh park hopping privledges.

Im seriously leaning towards buying DS & myself annual passes. Just told DH after our cruise next summer DS & I will go back to Disney!
And with the AP there's a chance of room discounts and I can buy the Disney Dining Exp card

Where do you find info about 10 day tickets, and to compare with/without park hopping/expiration/etc.? I don't see that anywhere... disney.com only goes up to 7 day tickets.

10 day ticket: Base $223, Hopping $37, Plusses $48, Non-expiration $107.
Includes the tax.

Where can we buy those? Or is that something you can only buy at the gate and those are gate prices w/taxes included? How many plusses come with a 10 day ticket?

www.ticketmania.com has the 10 day discount ticket

if you sign up for the mousesavers.com monthly newsletter, it usually offers a special link to even deeper discounted tickets from ticketmania

We're getting the 10 day no-expiration, no hopping pass as well, but I think it's more expensive than what you mentioned? We're getting the plus options though because my parents are local and we will definitely (eventually) use up the water park visits! We don't get hopping because with a baby hopping would be a huge PITA for "us" personally, maybe not for everyone but I just can't do it!!

I don't think her price stated is lower than what it really costs. I added those up and came to $415 -and online if you do "tickets only" (not a room/tickets pkg) it DOES show 10 day tickets (I swear that wasn't showing there like that last week? LOL I thought it was only showing up to 7 day tickets.. hmmm..) and with tax (if you choose 10 days, nonexpiration, hopping, plusses) it's $401.53 online. That's cheaper!

Thanks momster
