Hi, we plan to buy a light weight buggy to take with us as we need it at the Airport, and getting around the place, however as ever I have some questions ;)

Q: can you take your own buggy in to the parks? Are they safe when your on the rides, should I bring a pad lock for the wheels?

Q: can you take a buggy (folded of course) on the Disney buses? I don’t much fancy taking a 19 month around down town Disney if not got the buggy with us.

Anyone got any experiences or tips they lie to share with taking your own buggy verses using one of them hard plastic half egg things you see in the parks.

Of course you can take your own buggy, no there is no need to bring a padlock, your stuff is safe, in 4 visits we've never had anything taken

Yes, no problem.

You could just buy a cheapo buggy from Walmart. That's what we do, then you haven't got to get it there and back home.

Thanks for the tips, we need the buggy at the airport and in Iceland so we have to buy one here. But that's a good idea about Walmart. I plan this time to make a trip to some shops one of the day and buy a load of clothes, in the past I used to go to Boston with company I worked with so I had that opportunity then but I don't get that anymore so this is my chance to stock up on some cheap clothes and trainers. I might post about that next in fact see what tips people have for shopping outside and near Disney World.

We always take a light weight buggy (stroller) - you can take them right up to the boarding gates which is useful.
No problem with transport or parks - infact essential for a baby/ toddler.

We always take our own car seat too - but thats another thread.........

when my kids were little we always took a buggy (when they were both little we used a foldable double buggy that we bought especially for our WDW trips)...
there is no problem with it on disney buses, parking lot trams, in the parks, etc etc etc....

No problem at all - we had a stupidly shaped 3 wheeler that was hardly compact (but brilliant in lots of other ways), and have never had a problem with taking on plane, on shuttles, into parks etc - apart from one puncture from a flight, and BA paid for a new tyre!

Never had any problems leaving our own buggy at any of the parks but we always removed our backpack and took it with us when going into any shows/restaurants and when doing the rides.

A good tip we were given - tie a ribbon or scarf around the handles so when you return to the sea of strollers, you'll find your own one quite quickly. :teeth:

Remember, CM's often move the strollers around (we found this especially true at shows) so don't panic too much if it's not where you left it! :rotfl:
