So, what's the atmosphere - goofy jokes, etc... Or pretty normal dining?
How about they go there just because you want to?I am no longer in the ADR pool of folks, after seeing the menu. With 3 meat & potatoes loving men & 3 picky-ish kids, I think we will have to skip it to keep the peace! Sticking w/pot roast & potatoes at LTT for us. (Why aren't my menfolk foodies, I really wanted to try it!?)
Hope you feel better soon.
It has gotten to be an obstacle coarse with all the moving "vehicles" in the park and too many careless "drivers/pushers"
So sorry to hear this. About two years ago I was in the main Disney store at Disney Springs looking at a table with jewelry on it. An elderly man in an ECV came driving up and looked at me like I should get out of his way and when I didn't, he just plowed me down. Ran over both of my feet and knocked a bunch of items off the table. As he drove off I yelled "hey! You just ran over my feet!" and he just kept going. I reported him to security and I saw them later speaking with a couple of elderly ladies that were with him. I never got any sort of apology or anything. I saw them later out on the walkway and just glared. Had to bite my tongue to keep from saying anything. Luckily I was not seriously injured, just bruised up. I guess it's no different from the way some people turn into complete jerks when they get behind the wheel of a car ... I hope you heal quickly and feel better soon!1) We went there to check on the Soft Opening.
2) Alas, while still on Main Street, I was literally run over by an old woman on an ECV.
3) I was knocked to the ground and struck the curb.
what the heck is a "fish collar"?
This explains it better then I can: http://www.bonappetit.com/test-kitchen/cooking-tips/article/fish-collars
I'll admit I hadn't heard of it before today.
It was very good. Skipper Morgan said the vegetable curry was one of her favorites. The mac and cheese is like a greek pasitisio but with different seasoning. I would order it again.
Did you interpret this to mean "no reservations for dates any earlier than a month from now", or "it will be at least a month before you can call in to get a reservation"?
Since our plan is to eat there on 24 January, the sooner booking begins, the happier I'll be.
I am the one with the men who aren't adventurous. There are more dynamics than cavemen who only eat burgers & fries....
I am planning for a party of 10. My dad is 71, and paying for all of us. He is the least adventurous eater of the 3, so more out of respect for him (because I know he would be uncomfortable with these dishes), I am refraining. He is likely in the very beginnings of Alzheimer's, and anything I can do to create happy memories with and for him I will do!Which also means sticking together the whole trip.... Leading to point #2....
BIL is a jerk, I just don't want to hear him say a single word. The second he gets crabby, my sis gets crabby & we will all be miserable because they are unhappy people.
If it were just us, DH would go out of respect for me, because he knows I'm intrigued.
As I said earlier the CM that I spoke with on Friday night that told me it would be open for walk ups also said that she didn't think they would be taking ADR's until after the Christmas holiday's. She was only one day off on the openings so I wonder if she will be right about the ADR's? Time will tell but I will still keep checking.he seemed to think it was more of the second, but then again he didn't even know the restaurant opened today so i wouldn't say its definite
I see this type of question often? I don't get it. Why don't your men change it up a little and try thing for the sake of you. We certainly plan on going. I find kids are only picky if you allow them to be. Mine, 8 and 5 eat what we eat (there is rarely another option), and we expose them to A LOT. They now eat virtually anything (including caviar) especially once their hungry. I recently had a talk with my wife about our kids as they have been slipping some in their worldly tastes. When we go out to for Mexican food, my son had been eating chicken nuggets. In our last two trips, he now eats burritos, quesadillas, ect. since the other items have magically "been dropped from the menu". If given the choice of comfort food, sure that's where most will go. But where is the excitement in that. This is Disney. Time to make your men folk explore some new options!
Well congratulations to you! Go ahead and pat yourself on the back for having such wonderful eaters.
Some of our kids have issues that cause their selective eating. Mine are autistic. Until you have dealt with children who would LITERALLY starve themselves rather than eat something with an offensive texture, smell, taste, or color (offensive to them for who knows what reason, as we don't reside inside their heads), you have no idea how difficult it can be to eat out as a family.

In my experience, some jokes from Hostess, but not much from waitstaff-the jokes are definitely not "rapid-fire" like Jungle/Jingle Cruise. So, what's the atmosphere - goofy jokes, etc... Or pretty normal dining?
The difficulty is that their wording is ambiguous or easily misinterpreted. Whether it refers to when the reservations are *made*, or when the reservations are *for*. Now that an official opening is announced, I suspect we will hear more soon.. . . . . also said that she didn't think they would be taking ADR's until after the Christmas holidays.
