but don't want to do it without DH completely on board...you see my DH is not a fan of disney :confused3 We already own one timeshare in the Orlando area and I still prefer to stay on site. So the idea of buying into another Orlando timeshare is not going over well in my house:sad2: Has anyone else had trouble convincing spouse to commit to DVC? Suggestions please for getting DH on board?

Sellers for us...
* Dis keeps resale values relatively high due to ROFR.
* Proven track record for upkeep on properties (look at the Contemporary and Poly, for example)
* Trading ability (I know it's not a good deal, but it is an option)
* Flexibility (any week, any size room, banking/borrowing options)
* We kept going back and staying in DVC resorts (this was the clincher)

Best of luck. It's a tough decision, but one we've been very happy with since our purchase! :goodvibes

For me it was easy - Hilton Head Island. DH is a golfer and loves the wonderful courses at HHI. It doesn't hurt that WDW has 5 courses on site too. So, our Disney vacations always include a couple of rounds of golf for DH.
I love Disney for thinking of the whole family!

Check these boards for threads that have broken down the cost of DVC versus "rack rates" for hotel rooms; figured out over the life of the DVC contract. Some people have gone to great lengths to show mathematically the advantage - I found it fascinating and very informative. I think that might help your DH.
