Taking the GF/CF Plunge

DS and I checked out the GF/Vegan bakery in town today. He got a Peanut Butter Brownie and and Moon Pie. I like to try what he eats but he ate the brownie before I could get a bite and the Moon Pie is for tomorrow. They don't have bread but the GF on the other side of town has sandwich bread plus I'm going to try a Bob's white bread mix today.

The GF/Vegan bakery has more choices for cakes for him and they do natural food colorings. We are going to the ball park for his birthday so we will get a cake from this bakery with a baseball and bat on it, he's quite excited. I already cleared bringing in an o/s cake with party coordinator.

The nice thing about being in a minor league city is a party like this is relatively cheap. Having 25 people (adults and children) won't cost much more than 10 kids at Chuck E. Cheese. The guests will all have hot dogs and pizza and I'll pick up DS a burger or chicken or something from one of the food stands.

The teacher thinks that DS is more focused and doesn't notice him zoning out as much. We let him have real cheese last night on his GF pasta at our favorite local Italian joint. I do want to add dairy back in for a week to see if we notice a difference once in awhile but overall we'll do CF as well as GF.

We had DS's Bday party at the baseball game last night. Rochester Red Wings, International League AAA affiliate of the Minnesota Twins.

Anyway it was great. We ordered a cake for him from the GF Vegan bakery. He was thrilled. Ice Cream cake comes with the package so we had that for the guests. We also could get hot dogs and pizzas for a decent price so we got those and sent Uncle A off in search of food for G. We didn't realize, but now we know they have food stand dedicated peanut free and with G/F offerings including Pizza with soy cheese (while we've cut back on the soy we haven't totally cut it out). And then he got a real nice hamburger wrapped in a lettuce leaf with some tomato at the burger stand.

DS said this was his best birthday ever and last year was at WDW!!!

And since we were running late this morning he had cake for breakfast (I figure it's no worse than donuts).

cake for breakfast rocks:)
No different than pancakes or waffles:rolleyes1

I am glad things are really working on the GF/CF
