:goodvibes We will be staying at Pop in August. I would like to take the ferry one day. The kids have never been on the ferry and it has been years since I have. Can anyone tell me which park would be best to take ferry to and how do we get there. I know we will have to take the bus at some point but where do we go from there. We will be doing MK,Epcot,MGM & AK along with Downtown Disney the day of our arrival. Any ideas would be great.

Thanks:flower1:

If you are planning to park hopp later in the day to the Magic Kingdom here is what you can do. From Epcot you can take the Monorail to the TTC, or from Hollywood Studios and the Animal Kingdom you can take the bus to the TTC. From there you can go on the ferry that goes directly to the Magic Kingdom.

Just for fun, you could do another boat or two. You could take the boat from MGM to EPCOT, do EPCOT for awhile, and then EPCOT to the Transportation and TIcket Center and the ferry to the MK.

I love the boat to Wilderness Campground for the Hoop De Doo Revue too!

Have fun! I have happy memories of the ferry when I was little too!

are you trying to do all those parks in one day? you mention you are doing them on your day of arrival.... sounds like a lot for one day... the above poster had the best idea take any bus or monorail to TTC and then take the ferry... or there is a lovely ferry boat ride in the MK.... it goes around Tom Sawyer island...

If you are planning on going from MK to Epcot, you could take the big paddle wheel ferry from MK to TTC. Then hop on the monorail to Epcot there.
You can also ride Friendship boats between Epcot and DHS (MGM)..they run from the International Gateway (in the rear of Epcot in the World Showcase between France and England). Takes about 25 mins to get to DHS from WS.

i think the coolest boat ride is between the poly, gf and mk. from any park, bus to poly, and take the launch to the mk.

The ferry I think you are talking about is the big one over at Magic Kingdom that goes from the TTC (where people park) to the Magic Kingdom. The easiest way to do that would be to take the bus from Pop Century over to Magic Kingdom. Then take the ferry over to the TTC and then back again. You don't even have to enter the park to do this.

You can also take th e smaller boats that go to the monorail resorts and over to Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness. Again, you never have to enter a park.

For another boat ride, you can take the Friendship boat in between the International Gateway entrance/exit at Epcot to Hollywood Studios. The same boat are also inside Epcot and go across Showcase lagoon.

I know what you mean about boats. My 77 year old father-in-law always has to have a boat ride at Disney World. Just for the heck of it.

There are no buses from WDW resorts to the TTC so don't try that one.

Just to be clear, the only large ferries runs between the TTC and the MK. You could bus to the MK and take that or follow CRs advice.

There are smaller Friendship boats that go between the Intenational Gateway of Epcot and the entrance to DHS. To get to the IG from the front of Epcot requires admission and a good 10-15 minute walk though. The same type of boats also run routes across the lake in Epcot but are completely separate routes.

Same type of smaller boats also run from the MK to FW and WL. There is also a boat that runs between WL/FW and CR.

Finally, there are the smallest of all...delightful launches that run a route from MK>Grand Floridian>Polynesian>MK. Occasionally I've seen these small ones leave the MK en route to the Bay Lake area lately too.:confused3

Oh, I forgot the boats that run between POR, OKW and DTD. They're rather small too but without the same charm as the MK route IMO.

Sorry, I did not explain that very well. No we will not be doing all in one day. We have park hoppers so we go to one park in the early morning take a break and do another in the afternoon/evening. The kids have just never been on any of the boats. I think the last time I remember being on one there was only the ferry. Am I dating myself:eek:

Yeah, there a lot more boat options now! I think we've covered all the options.

disnut8, I just saw your post from yesterday. We posted pretty much the same thing at nearly the same time. :thumbsup2

Gotta love those boats!
