I talked to HR this week to get permission to bring my girl to work with me. She's at the point in her training that I think she's ready, and I'm ready. But I'm not going to take her until September or so. They haven't officially given me permission but I really doubt it's going to be an issue.
I was wondering if it would be better to bring her for a few hours a day and then send her home (either go home for lunch or have someone come get her), or just go whole hog from day one? I've talked to a few people and our trainer, and answers vary widely. I was thinking 2-3 hours a day the first week, and work up to a full day over the course of a month. Does that sound like a good plan, or should I just take her and be done with it?
*She* is ready now, but I'm not. Mostly I'm dreading having to educate my coworkers.

I would ask an assistance organization like Canine Assistants for advice. They have a facebook page as well as a website. They are a great local organization that provides service dogs free of charge to people with all sorts of disabilities. They can tell you about resources in your area. I personally would work up to a full day, but they may have much better tips. :) Good Luck!
