Just wondering ... although I've been to Disney World about 13 times I've never really bothered to take snacks. I really thought they discouraged you and infact would not allow outside food in the parks. I've seen a lot of talk on these boards about taking food in. Just what will they allow you to take in? Now that one of my sons has Celiac Disease I'll definitely be taking snacks along for him.

We take food and juice boxes in with us to every park.... they don't frown upon that, it just takes longer at security check point....

We take all kinds of snacks (fruit snacks, cookies, fish, pretzles, bars) and even water, no glass is allowed and i use a collapsable cooler. To be fair, we do end up buying sodas, ice cream and those delicious goofy company cookies though!

DH is a diabetic and has to snack so we carry the little packs of peanut butter and crackers, frozen bottles of water or G2 (low sugar gatorade) and plums or nectarines. Never had a problem.

Yep. We've got a similar problem, except Nic's hypoglycemic. So, we always carry peanut butter crackers.

We took lots of water in during our july 2006 trip. we carried it on the back of our sit and stand stroller and it worked out great. our next trip is planned for october 2009. we won't have a stroller this time, so i don't know if i will take water in or not. i don't want to carry a cooler around everywhere!

We always take frozen bottles of water and have never had a problem.

I do take some snacks. Usually pretzels, trail mix, and water/juice. Trust me we do spend enough on snacks in the park as well. The main reason I do this is sometimes when my dd5 is hungry and wants something to nibble on is at the most inconvenient times...waiting line or getting from point a to b.

We always carry bottled water and several granola bars in a small soft cooler. We have never had a problem taking it in - just plan on it taking a few extra seconds/minutes (depending on the size of your bag and how many pockets it has) at the check-point.

I agree, last trip we took just a few little things each day for the kids, fruit snacks, slim jims, gold fish crackers, and juice boxes, that allowed the kids to have a little something in the stoller or in line for a ride, so we didnt have many snack panic attacks! I am sure you know what I am talking about, lol. Security never gave us any problems.

Have a GREAT trip!

Thanks all ... I'm pretty sure I'll be taking snacks along this time. Some gluten free cookies for my 9 year old and some fruit snacks and little snack bags for my impatient soon to be 5 year old. We certainly will spend enough on other snack foods and meals in the parks.

We too have never had a problem. :goodvibes Besides bottled water, snacks, etc. I've even brought in cans of soda. Also, something else we used to bring in for DD when she was younger, that worked out great, were those individual boxes of cereal. She could ride around in her stroller having her morning meal. Also, they were great to feed the birdies while we were waiting for the rest of our family to get off of ToT.

I bring in water and small little snacks like cereal bars or fruit snacks, just something little somthing so im not starving and having to pay a million bucks for a little snack. I eat at the parks and spend plenty of money on food so I don't feel bad for having a small little just incase snack on hand, and carrying in my own water!

I've also braught in mixed nutz in a baggy or jerky. I don't think it's wrong to bring in a little something for your self. You spend enough money on everything else and Disney know's that it's expensive. Plus traveling with a child/toddler it's to hard to know if they will eat what you buy so we bring in snacks for the little one as well! They really can't say no to that considering they don't serve baby food and that kind of stuff!

We pack snacks, drinks, and sandwiches for the kids in a small soft cooler. We never had any problem bringing it in to the park. Our past 3 trips we carried it in the stroller. Next year will be our first year without a stroller, so I'm not sure if we will still do this. :confused3

We took snacks for my son and peanut butter crackers for the rest of the group. We also had lots of bottled water and juice, and we had no issues. :)

We have always brought snacks in, and sometimes even lunches and never had a problem. Pack a cooler bag, put in some freezer packs, and it will stay cool all day. if you don't feel like hauling it around all day, leave it in a locker at the front gate. We still buy ice cream and that sort of thing in the park.

We have never had a problem bringing in food and drinks. However, I also bring a laminated letter from our allergist that says our kids have a peanut allergy just in case security does give us a problem. If they ask, we just tell them that our kids can't eat many of the things in the park and we have to bring our own food b/c of the allergy. I need the letter anyway for the flight (to bring on medications) so the allergist's letter serves more than one function.
