I am planning my itinerary for my Oct 2005 trip. I am conufused :confused3 about what MYW tix we should buy. Has anyone who usually hops, taken away this option and stuck to one park per day? I feel like I don't want to limit myself but we do have 5 days and I think we could make it work without the hoppers. What is so frustrating is not finding out the EMH schedules until what I consider last minute. I have a day planned in AK, for example, and they have EMH over at MGM, I would really want to do that. Any advice would be great!!

I know what you mean. I have been debating this issue also. I guess it would depend on what time of year you go. If you go when MK closes early, you might want to go to Epcot which usually closes later. So, then it would be worth the hopper upgrade. Last year, we didn't hop even though we have the hoppers. We didn't miss it. But then again, most of the parks were open late.

You might want to check this out but I believe I read somewhere that you can add options even after the initial purchase. Maybe it's just the no expiration option, but it may be worth asking!

We're going in Oct also, I decided to add hopping for $35 spread out over 7 days, it was worth $5 for me. I want to be able to come and go to Epcot's F&W festival!! I know towards the end of the week we'd go to one park, and want to eat at another!! This trip with my parents we may want to hop over to MGM just to do Tot or RNR... so for $5 it worked out ok for us!

Now if I could just convince my parents they need more than 2 days at the parks!! :rolleyes1

I have never tried to go without hopping and to be quite honest... I'm not sure that I would be able to. There are very few days when we're at WDW that we're not hopping from one park to the next... usually it's a hop back to epcot at night for dinner and or drinks.

Funny, everyone seems to be hopping back to Epcot. We're always hopping back to MK! I like to hop. If you are staying onsite, hopping is a great benifit. But staying offsite, then if you get tired of a park, then you can go to the mall or eat outside the parks.

A friend of mine went recently and was miserable because MK was packed and they couldn't hop. I have never gone and not hopped on most days. If you decide to wait and add while your there if needed make sure you include it in your budget just in case.

Well if you are going in October you have a lot of time to plan. You do not have to get your tickets right now do you? Even if you are getting a package you can change it as long as it's 45 days in advance and by then they should have the schedule for EMH.

We are going in May and chose not to get park hoppers to save money. We just planned our vacation how it fit to us and not by some "best days" or EMH scheduling. Some of the days we go to the parks happen to be their EMH day and others are on a non-EMH designated by some guides as least crowded/best days to go. It's our first time going so we're willing to go experience both non-EMH and EMH. I'll post how it goes when I get back.

Keep in mind that since hopping is an add on now, the emh are packed because all those folks who opted out of the hopping option are taking advantage of the long hours and they can not hop out of the park which means they stay and the park is crowded. That was my experience in February. I won't go to EMH in May when I return. It was a nightmare. We waited an hour and a half to get into to Epcot. Yuck. I say get an AP (I did) or add the hopping option. Why limit yourself on vacation? :confused3

I suppose if you choose not to go to the parks on their EMH days it won't be crowded and you will not need hopping?

My question fits in here I think! I am trying to find out if I can purchase a 7 day base ticket and use it in 4 days time by "hopping" on two or three days by using a second "day" on the ticket when I visit more than one park in a day. Has anyone tried this or heard of others that have? I know the ticket information says that you can visit only one park per day with the base option, but I am thinking that that may be per one "day" on the ticket. Thanks for your thoughts and responses! Nancy :earsgirl:

We had a trip one year without hopping. This was when they offered the bounce back passes where each day you purchased was discounted more but it didn't allow hopping. This was a short 4 day trip and we only had 3 day passes since were leaving early afternoon on our last day. We had a great trip but I don't think I could go without hopping again. We like to visit one park in the morning, take a break and then visit another park in the afternoon. It also gives us the flexibility to go to another park if we are to crowded or we change our mind. If you've never used the hopping feature before I don't think it is as big of a deal and I know a lot of people visit the parks that way.

From what I understand, you will not be able to do this. I think once you have activated a day on your pass, you can not use another day in the same day. Maybe someone can back that up?? :confused3

We do several early mornings at MK, because you can walk right on rides that will have an hour wait later. We like to have more than one go at Splash, Space, Buzz, etc.. so we like to go there more than one morning. If you have some special favorites, it's good to be able to return to them again and again. You can't really do this as well if you can't hop. :Pinkbounc

You may not park hop among the theme parks by consuming (forfeiting, etc. whatever you want to call it) an additional day of a non-hopping pass.

With the Plus Pack and no hopping option you can go to different places during the day so long as only one place is a theme park.

We did a no-hopping trip over President's Week and really enjoyed it. We are doing a no-hopping trip again in a few weeks. We found it kind of relaxing not to spend so much time on the busses back and forth--and when you know you are not hopping, that little voice that says "something better is happening over THERE so you better go!" goes away. We found we were able to really take our time, and enjoy the part we were in thoroughly. Because the parks were open outrageously late (MK until 3:00 AM!) we really did get to see and do it all, including a nice long break at the resort every afternoon. Just my experience!
