Taking our 2 yr old triplets to Disney for their first time!

Hi everyone,
Hubby and I are planning on taking our 2 yr old trips to WDW for their 3rd birthday. We are going November 28th for a one week. We are planning on staying at the All Star Music Suites. Do you think that would be good for us on space? Any other good tips for traveling with 3 toddlers....

This will be mine 4th trip to disney and hubby's and the trio's first Disney trip. I am so excited and cannot wait for November..

Have a great time! We just went for my DD3 b-day and had a blast. We are lucky that she will sleep in teh stroller as we also havd my 8yo DS with us so it gave him a chance to ride the big rides while she napped.

I would try and hot the EarlyMH so that you can take a break mid-day. We got there on a Sunday and did
Monday-EarlyMH
Tuesday-Early MH
Wednesday-sleep in (we only did AK evening magic hours and went to dinner-home and in bed by 8)
Thursday-EarlyMH
Friday-sleep in
Sat-EarlyMH

By juggling the days and gtting naps in we avoided meltdowns and felt rested.

Make sure you actually go before their birthday (or check in before they turn 3 if their birthday is that week) so they will be FREE!! Get them birthday buttons to wear in the parks.

We do the opposite of the PP. We dont hit EMH, because those parks tend to be heavier with crowds, unless you have the hopper option and can hop later. We go to Rope Drop at a park without EMH. The week you are going shouldnt be too crowded, though. We have been the week after Thanksgiving a few years ago and it was GREAT. Wonderful weather and low crowds.

I have never stayed at the All Stars so cant help you there.

will you have a car? extra adults, or just you and dh? park hoppers? how many days? which stroller?

FWIW, we took the kids at 2, thinking we'd take them while they were free and then wait a few years. HAH! it's been 5 years since that first trip and we've made the trek down there 11 times! Our absolute favorite trip was when they were 2 1/2 y.o. and it was just DH and I and our triplet stroller It was so, so magical.

I don't know if they will let you book all star with 5 people, unless you are staying in the suites. Something to look into. I have 3 kids, when we go they will be 5,4 and 1. We could book Pop Century but only because we had 1 infant that will be in a crib, otherwise you have to book something that accomodates 5, like POR. Just something to check out. They will LOVE it!! have a great time. When mine were 3, they LOVED going to see all the Princesses, we did that everyday.

Our first trip with our triplets (who are now 6) was 2 1/2.
The best piece of advice we received of this board was don't expect too much! We were only at the parks for 4-5 hours a day. They did need their naps! They slept from 3-5pm almost every day! We stayed at the Boardwalk so we set their cribs up the same as at home! (yes, they were still in cribs)
It was fun, tired, crazy! Would I change anything? Not one bit! Life is too short! Have FUN!!!Take lots of Pictures! They may not remember but you're making the memories!

My brother in law and his wife are joining us so they will be a great help to us.. 4 Adults 3 toddlers.. good ratio..
We are looking at staying at the All Star Music suite.. I think that might give
us the most room..I am just way to excited.. I wish we were going sooner..

We went 2x with friends who have triplets. Let them each pick something to see that day and make sure you do at least that in the park of the day. And it also worked well to divide the girls for an hour a day so each one will get special time with an adult.

Buffets worked well since the food was immediate and everyone could select what they wanted (they didn't have to share a meal)

And they didn't bring the triplet stroller, instead they opted for a double and a single stroller since it was easier to push through a crowd.

If you have one of the triplet strollers that you have to take apart to fold down and are riding the buses you might want to consider using double and a single. Also, in the MK if you ride the train from one side of the park to the other they make you fold the stroller and this could be very time consuming with the triplet strollers that you have to take apart.

I was going to say the same thing. Just make sure your check-in date is prior to their actual 3rd birthday.

You'll have a great time. Go with a plan, but be ready to tweek it as you go along - follow the kiddos cues. Take lots of pictures & video - your children will most likely remember some of the trip on their own, but if they relive it through picture & video, they will remember every moment of the trip!

Hi There,

We stayed at the All Star Music family suites, it was super! It's a good enough amount of space, two bathrooms a real plus, kids happy to sleep on all the pull out couch/chairs. Also, the buildings with the suites are close to the main building - a plus for tired feet. Calypso is the closest, Jazz the next one down.
When our kids were little we would leave the big triplet stroller at home if we wanted to be portable and use a double plus single. You might even consider just renting two doubles - room for packages/bags/water bottles etc. And less fighting over who sits where... ... been there!

I can't speak in multiples, but from taking our 2 yr old I can offer this:

TAKE AS MANY DISPOSABLE ITEMS AS POSSIBLE!!! Sippy cups, flatware, changing pads, etc. That way you don't have to mess with carrying dirty items in your bag all day. Also, take no more diapers/wipes than you need - refill on your breaks.

You are going to have a GREAT time! There is just something so special about seeing a kid's face light up the first time they go to WDW. Even if they all suffer epic meltdowns the rest of the trip, there will be one moment of zen that you can treasure for a lifetime!

all the values ar 4 plus a child under 3 in a pack and play. Ceratinly threy qualify with 3 under 3! Make sure you use a stroller and bring snacks and drinks into the parks. have fun!!!!!!!

My DH thought we were crazy to take two 2.5-year-olds to WDW last year!

Some of my tips:
1. Hit the park early so you can return to the room for naps, then hit the parks again around 4pm.
2. Bring disposable sippys, eating mats, and utensils. Your kids eat free at buffets if under 3 when they eat food from your plates placed on mats provided by you--makes many character meals very affordable at this age. Make sure the servers know what you are doing because AK Tusker House tried to charge us for 4 meals (DH and I got 1 plate each we shared with DS and DD).
3. I highly recommend The Crystal Palace with Pooh & Friends for a character breakfast. We had ressies for 8:30am (30 minutes before park opening) so we entered the park at 7:45am and could explore Main Street and take Castle pics with an empty park before breakfast. My kids still talk about eating with Pooh, and we are repeating this experience with my mom for our first day in WDW this May.
4. You may already know, but we learned my son was frightened of fireworks, both at MK and Epcot. My DH took him farther away while DD and I watched.
5. My best advice is make the trip about them. Make some ressies and day plans, but allow them to be flexible or tossed out the window if they are interested in something else entirely. We picked a park for morning and afternoon, and had a couple ressies planned for each day, and that was it. Even the ressies were cancelled a couple times when we were just having too much fun. A lot of people will tell you taking toddlers to WDW, especially 3 is insane or too difficult, but I think many of those people try to control the situation instead of going with the flow and doing things at a toddler's pace.
