We are planning to go October 20-31, I currently have a package booked. I am waiting for a bonus to pay off the trip (45 days 9-6) however, I will not be getting my bonus for a week or two afterwards. What would happen if I switched to a room only reservation then switched it back after I am able to pay in full? The reason I am thinking of doing it this is because I have a discount attached to my room. TIA!

The package will have to be cancelled/refunded and a room only booked, requiring a deposit of 1 night's room rate + tax. If you then want to switch it back to a package, the room only will have to be cancelled/refunded and the package booked, as deposits and other amounts paid toward the balance can't be transferred between the two.

If the discount period has expired, they MAY NOT let you rebook with the discount..Just food for thought

If there are no more rooms available with my discount, will I lose my discont code in the process? That's my main concern. TIA!

Well switching between room only and packages is not a simply process. It usually involves cancelling a reservation, refunding the monies paid to date, and then rebooking (subject to current availability on room and discounts). And then you would repeat the process again when you switch back to what you had.

It would be easier to drop one component of the package, thus still keeping it a package. I.E. drop the dining plan keeping room and tickets, etc.

You can call Disney. They have been known to extend the deadline for people who explain circumstances. Doesn't mean they always will, just means it's possible.

You will most likely have to have Guest Services make the change so you don't lose the discount ;). I booked a bounce back offer in January and just a month or so ago changed from a package to room only. The CM told me she had to put me on hold and have Guest Services make the change so I didn't lose my 40% off the room :thumbsup2. If you are told it can't be done, ask to speak to Guest Services. Good luck :wizard:.
