Taking my UK Straightners?

I have dual voltage straightners but to be honest they feel like they are dragging on my hair. I am thinking of taking my UK ones with me, has anyone take their UK ones. I am assuming that the only issue would be that they would take longer to heat up but am I correct in thinking they would still reach the same temp.

Also would there be any issue carrying them in my hand luggage as would like to use them at the hotel.

it's my understanding that they will not heat up at all if they're not dual voltage.

I posted details in this thread from a few days ago, look at the plug/cable it has to say input voltage 110~240v(or similar) if it just says 240v then it will only work in UK.

Mine work in the US, but they take SO LONG to heat up (think 15-20 minutes). You're probably better off taking a quick trip to Walmart and grabbing some cheap American straighteners - mine were $12 and lasted the 9 months I lived in the States, and are still going! (touch wood)

What make have you got? My friends GHDs didn't work but my babyliss ones worked perfectly.

They are Ceramic tech, my hairdresser used to have them which is where i first heard about them. I love them but you can't get them anymore. The last pair I got of Ebay for my daughter.

My GHDs worked - well my new ones did anyway. I brought them last year at Manchester airport on the way to WDW. My old GHDs didn't heat up so it was just aswell that I brought the new set. I thought my old ones were broke

Perhaps newer straighters are more advanced and can be used more or less anywhere.
