Just found out that my 12 year-old niece will be joining us on our Disney trip this summer! She has never been to Disney, has always wanted to go, and is now estatic that she gets to go! My DD5 (an only child) is thrilled to have a companion! I want to give her a few things at the beginning of the trip...Mickey pretzels, stuffed Minnie, Epcot Passport, etc. Do you think she's too old for an autograph book? My DD will be doing the autographs too so it's not like she'll be the only one doing this.

What other things might a 12 year-old like? I have ressies at CRT which I'm hoping she'll LOVE!

A few years ago we took our then-12-yr old nieces (twins) to WDW and I made them autograph books, which they used and loved, and we also bought them the Birnbaum's Walt Disney World for Kids by Kids! book to read so they could read about all the rides and attractions are and decide on the things they really wanted to do. We loved letting them get involved in the planning, although in the end they just went along with whatever we wanted to do.

Hope this helps and that you all have a great time. Don't forget to get a limited power of attorney for the trip in case of emergency too! You can do an internet search to find free forms to copy and use. Make sure you get it notorized as well. Better to have and not need, than need and not have! ;)

hth! and hope you have a great time!

No, especially if she has never been there,I think she would like a book. How about a camera -either a few disposables or if birthday is near or you are just a great aunt point and shoots are very reasonable anymore. One of those mini fans and maybe a lanyard with a couple of pins. Badge of honor pin with her name and one for your daughter.

I think she would love an autograph book, especially since she has never been there. Also, a lanyard with pins is a great idea. How about a Disney hip-pack to keep any essentials in as well as her autograph book, etc. Have a wonderful trip! :sunny:

My DD12 loves the pins .
She did the Ag's awhile back but was just never really into the Char. thing.
