Taking my daughter out of school for trip---please help!!

This October I pulled the 3 boys out of school for 1 week and 1 day. They are in preschool, kindergarten and 2nd grade. I was only worried about the work load in 2nd grade. The teacher gave us no work ahead of time or extra work or homework. The day we were heading out, I picked them up from school and the teacher said, per the handbook, the kids are required to fill out a daily journal, that was all. He was to make up the work he missed either in school or at home. She was very confident he would have no problem catching up. Our kindergartener had no problem doing his make up work, he got it the day we left, he did it all prior to leaving. As for next year, we will have a 3rd grader, and in that grade the work load is much more difficult and a 1st grader and 1 more yr of preschool. We will not be pulling him out, unless it is very early in September. They start school in Late August, so maybe the week of Labor day. Not sure though, we may need to suck it up and go in the summer.
If you think your child will not be able to keep up with the work load or gets stressed easily about it, maybe think about a vacation week or short school week.
