Taking my 79 yr. old Grandma!

We are taking my Mom and Grandma on our next trip (next week). My Grandma is 79 and is very sharp! The problem is that she has a 79 year old body that can't take too much walking or standing for long periods of time. (Her hips start bothering her.) Everyone recommends renting a wheel chair. We finally talked her into that! I worry about waiting in the lines. Back and forth through the queues. Can she wait somewhere and "hop on" when we get to the front of the line? What's the "right way" to do this so we don't get in trouble?!?

You can bring the wheelchair into almost all the lines with her, so there is no need for her to wait somewhere else for you and she won't have to stand in long lines.
You don't need a GAC to bring the wheelchair into the lines or use the wheelchair entrances, just having the wheelchair is all you need. All of the fastpass lines, and many of the other lines are "Mainstream" which means they are wide enough (and no steps or you can avoid steps) so that wheelchairs and ecvs wait in line with everyone else.
We have been to WDW the last weeks of April and first weeks in May in the past. You probably won't find long lines, so it's a good time to go. You can also use fastpass for a lot of rides/attractions, which really limits the waiting time.
