Taking MIL to ER, she is spitting up blood

MIL is 79 and has cancer! She started spitting up blood at 3:00AM. Called the Dr. and the recording said to go to the ER. So SIL is going to take her over to the ER to find out what could be wrong.

MIL stopped in yesterday as I had made some homemade macaroni salad for her. She has not been looking so good lately. Very tired and drained looking (however she keeps right on going, she will not stop) has lost alot of weight and hair. I have no idea what could be wrong with her that would cause this? Would any of you know or have an idea?

She could have a bleeding ulcer, perhaps from medication she's taking? I'll say a prayer for her!

If she has been coughing alot she could have popped a blood vessel.

I hope it's something treatable and minor. it sounds like she's been through a lot already.

When my SIL was doing chemo for breast cancer she got a stomach bug and started vomiting. After awhile I noticed what looked like blood in her vomit. Scared the bejesus out of me. Of course, I called the Dr., It was something from the chemo, not BLOOD! thank goodness. I'm hoping it's the same with your MIL.

SIL has just taken her to the ER @ 1:35pm eastern, as soon as I hear something I will post.
