Taking Little Miss to Meet the Mouse! ~ A May 2015 PTR ~ Trip Report Link Posted!!

Congrats on your ADRS! You have some great choices for dining with a little one. Crystal Palace has long been a favorite in our family and the characters are so much fun at 1900 Park Fare.

I have one that turns into a pumpkin at the stroke of 9 PM, so we haven't seen Illuminations in a long time. I can't wait to hear about your experience at Rose & Crown.

We are lucky in that Little Miss has a pumpkin point closer to 11pm-12am. While we will be waking much earlier than normal for Rope Dropping, with our planned rest times and rest days that she should be able to go that long. My only worry with it is that we will have been at Wishes the day before.

I am looking forward to Rose & Crown as well. Scotch Eggs and Sticky Toffee Pudding have been on my list to find somewhere that serves it and try for a while. We never got around to trying Rose and Crown last time. And then again this summer in Charleston I found a place that serves them made the reservations and then had to cancel day of because we were too exhausted. I blame KatMark for the idea to add it in.:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: She put up a a post on her TR right as I was finishing up deciding my ADRs. It gave me the idea.

Changes!

So I have a change for you guys and one that may surprise you! We’re Changing resorts! As much as we loved POR I have always kept an eye on Caribbean Beach. I have always liked the look of it and felt a pull to the resort but the full sized beds and reviews of run down rooms always discouraged us.

Image Courtesy of google because I have never been there myself.

Well over the past month and a half I have been starting to see reports about the latest renovation over there. Now that they are putting queen beds in the rooms and doing a head to toe reno in the rooms CBR has become a very appealing option. Add in my love of palm trees and our whole family’s love of all things beach and things just get that much more tempting.

Then I saw THIS over on Easy WDW and THIS TR by mickeystoontown and I was sold.

The Extra Hot Tub will be appreciated and the Splash area that looks right down Little Misses alley. The only down side we see is that there are no elevators over at CBR. Our TA put a request in for a ground floor and made note on the reservation for us that we will have a stroller in tow but things might be a bit difficult should we end up on a second floor, but we are prepared to deal with it should that come to pass.

DH and I have decided not to tell Little Miss about the change. I can't wait to see her face when she sees she gets a beach to play on AND a visit with 'Mouse". It will probably be her two year old heaven because her two favorite things these days are “Beach” and “Mouse” the fact that I have found an affordable way to combine the two should equal Mommy Gold! :hyper:::yes::

We still love the wonderful quiet quality of POR but I am starting to get excited to try something new as well.

Congrats on the change. I've never stayed at CBR (mostly because it is "beachy" and we go to the beach after Disney every annual trip), but I know that Lisa and family (Mickeystoontown) love it. I'm sure your little one will be in heaven.

Disney Family Movie Night: Tangled

It took a while but I finally got our Tangled Movie Night complete. I have figured out the trick to getting it done is to let Little Miss Watch the movie after nap and then do the dinner when DH gets home. I was trying to stick to Dinner then Movie but things just kept getting in the way and Dinners were taking too long to watch a movie after.

So one day last week, I let Little Miss put on her Rapunzel dress and turned on the movie.

For dinner we had:

Rapunzel’s Hair with Forest Debris {A.K.A. Fettuccine Alfredo w/ Broccoli}

with

Snuggly Duckling Beer {A.k.A. Root Beer} to drink

And in a fit of brilliance day of, I found these for Maximus’s Apple Turnovers. They ended up being quite easy to make and were very yummy and made the house smell WONDERFUL. I found them in the freezer section near the puff pastry and frozen pies.

Overall it was a good night.

Next Movie night on the Docket…. Beauty and the Beast.

I LOVE your Tangled night...especially since Fettucine is one of my all-time favorite meals. And those Puffs look good...Mark would love those.

Your DD looks adorable in her Rapunzel dress.

Its one of mine as well. Unfortunately the jarred sauce I bought just doesn't taste the same. Those turnovers were really delicious I'm thinking of making them again on Thanksgiving or Christmas.

Little Miss does look awful cute in her princess dress. I am looking forward to seeing her react to her new princess dresses that Santa is bringing her.

Disney Training Update

tumblr_inline_mi7unhWz421ro8qpo.gif

Y’all! I am quite proud of myself right now. As you know, I have been working on building up my walking to at least 5 miles a day. According to my Pedometer I have achieved that! Not only did I do so but I was not very sore afterwards either! :yay: :yay:

tumblr_m1irhjQw7D1rn95k2o1_500.gif

My new goal is to get to a point where I am walking 10-15 miles 2 days straight and 5 miles one day. This should get me to a point where I am prepared for our time at Disney. {2 park days and 1 rest day}

I also recently came across THIS neat site that works with Google Maps and allows you to chart a walking path and it will tell you how far that is. I plugged in my first morning at MK and this estimates about 2.60 miles from bus loop to bus loop. So if this is accurate then I am estimating about7-8 miles a day on park days. Which, seeing how I feel today after reaching the 6 mile mark yesterday, I think will be very doable.

Congrats on the Disney training! I need to get back at mine. We had a cold snap that slowed me down.

Watching the movie before the meal is brilliant! We did a movie night tonight and my 2yo didn't make it until the end.

I missed your resort change. How exciting! I have never stayed at CBR (I think I am waiting on the boys to get old enough to enjoy a pirate room). I'm looking forward to hearing how you like it!

Thanks! Yeah I tried walking outside and quickly discovered that between the steep hills all over my neighborhood, uneven streets, and pollen and weather issues it was better to do it inside.

It did seem to help. Especially because it gave me time to concentrate on Dinner.

I'm really looking forward to it! I've heard that the pirate rooms will not be part of this reno so they will stay with the full sized beds but I'm happy to be your guinea pig for the overall resort. :rotfl: I am really looking forward to having a beach and a hammock to rest in.:beach: And the splash area for the littles looks wonderful!

Hi joining in :wave2:. We will be there in May as well. I can't wait to spend Mother's Day at MK. I hope you get a FP for Wishes because that would be magical. Your plans sound great and I am very impressed with your Disney training:thumbsup2. I have a PTR in my signature if you want to check it out.

:welcome: Yay someone else with a May PTR!!! So you'll be in MK on Mother's Day as well? It's probably the most perfect way to spend it. :thumbsup2 I'm not so worried about nailing a FP+ for wishes its the Anna and Elsa FP for Little Miss that I am worried about. :scared1: I am NOT standing in that stand by line.

Getting Crafty - First of the Magicbands

Little Miss Update First:

So Last year when Frozen came out I thought I had lucked out because I thought she was too young to get sucked into the Craze. Well looks like I was wrong about that! A certain Little Miss has been singing “Do you want to build a Snowman” and “Let It Go” for two weeks.

However she is mighty cute doing her best to mimic the dance Elsa does in Let it Go when watching the movie. (Which I only allow once a week) Her new game is to run around the house knocking on the doors and walls calling for Elsa. While I was burnt out on all things Frozen this new creativity being shown by Little Miss is warming me up to it at last. Now here’s hoping I can nab one of those allusive FP+ reservations at the 60 day mark!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So I have been playing around with my magicband from our Oct ’13 trip. For my first one I started with some magenta and silver with glow in the dark on the Mickey heads. All of the paint is Acrylic. But after I was done I felt that it was missing something. It looked like this:
After a month or two of keeping my options open I found an Anna inspired vinyl cover over on MyFantasyBands.com. I noticed that these don’t cover the whole band and that the colors in the decal would go well with what I had already painted on my band. So I went ahead and put the cover over the band and then used an Acrylic sealer to seal the whole thing. The End result turned out nicely and looks like this:
I am very happy with it!
~Word to the wise…. The sealer is quiet fumey so I suggest spraying it outside and then leaving it in a bathroom to dry. Also I used an empty water bottle to hold the magicband while I sprayed it. Works really well.
~Also, it turns out that Nail Polish Remover works well on acrylic paint when you make mistakes.
Congrats on the walking.
And good job on the Magic Bands.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
Just a quick note to say…….
Safe travels to all who are traveling on this holiday! Hope it’s a great one.
cute job on the magic band. I am looking forward to getting a little creative with mine as well. Hope you get those elusive fastpasses for Anna and Elsa. Luckily, with three boys, the frozen craze doesn't extend to wanting to meet them. Now, Olaf on the other hand, would be a must do.
Yeah I'm not telling her that she can meet them until I have the fastpasses in hand. :lmao:
She wants 3 things for christmas... Anna, Elsa, and "Snowman". Good thing that We've been able to find them.
I thought I had commented on here before but now I don't see it!
So I will try to summarize all my thoughts so far on your PTR!
First of all- your little girl is so adorable!
I love all your movie nights! And what you did with Lambie is adorable.
Your autograph book looks amazing!!
