Are you allowed to take your own light saber in the park? we built one in downtown disney a couple of years ago, is there anywhere in Hollywood studios to build your own light saber now?

right now there are 2 places to build your own lightsaber, Tattooine Traders (Star Tours gift shop) and Watto's Grotto (next to the Monsters Inc meet and greet) Watto's is always less busy but this tore is closing April 2nd, not sure when you are coming.

Also in MK you can build a light saber at Mickey's Star Traders in Tomorrowland. Light sabers are EVERYWHERE. I think technically you are not supposed to extend them in the park, but it is hardly enforced. I witnessed an epic duel before Illuminations last time I was there.

I doubt they will let you bring your own lightsaber IN the park for safety reasons (and .. let's be honest .. they want you to buy one there).

My son got one at DHS at Tatooine Traders. The Build Your Own Lightsaber thing is pretty cool and a better quality lighstaber than most I've seen in stores anyway.

They let you unfurl it there for a photo op or two right there, but tape it up (so it doesn't extend out) for guest safety.
My son was disappointed he couldn't fully play with it at the park. But, since it still makes sound and lights up, he was still happy.

you can bring your own into the parks, no problem...also I find it funny that they are trying to keep kids from extending their lightsabers inside the parks when they sell the same concept (light up sabers) that can not even collapse in all the parks.

That is refreshing it today's day and age. I can barely bring in a pack of chewing gum into a football stadium for "security reasons".
