Hello all, we are not new to Disney by any means however, This is my first time taking my boys 8 and 5 without their dad....Yikes!

My question is...... how do I handle the rides?? My 8 year old enjoys alot of the bigger rides and my 5 year old wants no parts of it. I am an overprotective mom that won't let my kids out of my sight so waiting in line by himself (the 8 year old) is not an option. Will they let me take him up, put him on the ride then wait for him there till its over???

Thanks!!

It depends on the ride. If the 5yo is tall enough to ride but chooses not to you can all wait in line and then use the chicken exit with your younger son and wait for the 8yo at the exit. If the 5yo dosen't meet the height restriction then you will not be allowed in the line with him at all so it won't work in those cases.

What rides are you considering doing this on?

Thanks for the response, Not sure exactly what rides but probably...space mountain, yeti ride, rock n roll rollercoaster, and maybe a few others.

I was hoping I could be there when he got off also, not have to wait by the exit but by where they unload.

Thanks,

Ok - its going to be difficult since like I said earlier you can't take they younger one through the line at all and will have to wait at the exits. This can mean he is alone a long time even with a fast pass. The easiest one will be Expedition Everest as you can stand by the single rider line and see him most of the time and then scoot over to the exit via the gift shop when he boards. RnRC, I wouldn't send an 8yo alone, even with a FP it takes a long time to go through the line and then the preshow. Your going to have to go into the giftshop and wait by the ride photos, same for Space Mnt. I would prepare him that he may have to skip some of those rides this trip.

I know its difficult, I take my 2 dd's solo as well and there were trips where my oldest didn't ride if my youngest couldn't until I felt she was old enough to ride alone.

Thank You! I had a feeling that might happen, I don't think he will be too dissapointed, he may even be a little uncomfortable going on them alone anyway.

Thanks again for the help!
