1- Yes.
2- Yes.
3- Yes.
4- Yes.
5- Yes.

Just no GLASS containers and no ALCOHOL.
No "rolling/pull-behind" coolers. Small coolers are OK.

They're basically looking for glass, alcohol, and weapons, which all makes sense.

You can bring lunch, snacks, water bottles (liquid or frozen, I've done both), etc. and be fine.

Your cooler must not be larger than 24" x 15" x 18" (that's length x width x height), must be soft-sided and cannot have wheels.

They are also more restrictive on what you can bring into Animal Kingdom, for the animals' safety no straws or drink lids (which means no juice boxes for the kiddos) are allowed.

One thing I will caution the OP on - it sounds like you will be the only one carrying something to hold everything in. Not sure if that will be a backpack or a bag or what but I would highly advise you think of everything you might need, get your bag of choice, load up that bag with all items and then walk around your block or down the road for about five miles. Then, come back and remove everything you think you can access at Disney World. Then, walk around the block or down the street for five miles. If you can handle it, you will be fine.

If your six year old normally carries a backpack for school, you can put his/her items into that. Just make sure it's not any heavier than what is carried to school.

Also, you could put all "maybe" items into one bag and store those in a locker and then only carry the "really needed" things with you throughout the parks. For example, if you are concerned with your child getting dirty and want to take a change of clothes, those can be stored in a locker during the day. For your mother, I would advise a washcloth in a zipper top bag. Very small. When she gets hot, she goes into a rest room, puts cold water on the washcloth and washes herself off. Then she can pop it back into the bag for the next time. I do this all the time and in July, I have several women asking me to buy the washcloth! Or, your mother can just simply use the rest room towels to do the same thing so nothing else is needed to be carried.

I agree with this a 100%! It is worth reminding her even, several times a day. I often splash water over my arms and face. Brings the body temp down quickly! One of the gel filled neckbands can be refreshed often too!

The washcloth is a great tip thank you!

Can we bring a steak knife or peeler to cut and peel fruits for my youngest?

If you can't carry it on a plane, I would advise not taking it into Disney World. I agree with preparing things in advance and strongly suggest zippered top bags of various sizes for that purpose. You can easily put four or five of the big ones together and then lots of the smaller ones into that package and then easily slip the entire thing into a pocket of your carry on or checked baggage.

Also, Disney does have fresh fruit available for purchase at all theme parks. Not the best bargain but they are there.

The washcloth in a plastic bag is a great idea. If she get too hot, cool rags on her pulse points will cool her off faster, wrist, neck, temples...etc.
