Has anyone done this not sure wether its permitted or not,

got the tip from the disney tips section for using in the evenings and attatching to our buggy to make it easier to spot.

Also does anyone know if you can buy glue at the airport?? I know your not allowed to take it through security in hand luggage but wanted to make activity packs for my girls for the plane journey and they love sticking so thought it would keep them occupied on the flight out for a while??

There is usually a newsagent (WHS or similar) after security where people can by magazines, papers, stationery etc. You should be able to get a glue stick there.

I am taking glo sticks this trip. I have soooooo many left over from DD's party and do not want to buy any more there. I have posted this question before and many responded saying they had taken glo sticks for weddings/kids with no problems.

Thanks thats good news!! I saw some today at a local shop that come with a head band and you can bend the glow sticks and attched them into to shape of mickey ears for £1.49 so will pop back and get a few to put away till nearer the time!!

I never thought of whsmith i might ring them and see if they stock it!!

What an awesome find! Is it a chain or an independent store? Actually no, dont tell me .... I really do NOT need any more glo sticks. I intend handing some out when we get there to get rid of them all :lmao:

I was just thinking it might be worth giving them a call. :thumbsup2

We took glow sticks in checked luggage, no probs, took lots and DD shared with others and chatted to her new friends whilst we waited for shows etc. We all had fun creating things with them passes endless time, great idea, thanks to whoever posted about them xx

Just thinking about this; are glue sticks not allowed through security? I know you are thinking about glue sticks as you want it for crafts for kids on the plane but I was just wondering if it isn't liquid form glue that is not allowed - or is it an outright rule of NO GLUE? Just goes to show I have never taken glue for my DD.

Ooh let us know where - might have to visit Swindon (although they wouldn't be quite such a bargain then!):rotfl2: Might have to check if we have a branch in Swindon (I work for the same company as Gavin!!!) perhaps some-one there can post them too me.

We always pack glowsticks in hold luggage . Normally pick up cheap in Sports Direct or other discount stores :)

If you are packing glowsticks, make sure you wrap them and pad them well, and don't just chuck them in the top of your case as a last minute addition...
(are you reading kids?!!)

We opened one case to a lovely glow!!! And you should have seen us in "The cat in the Hat" ride at universal - they use UV light.... I thought we had washed everything affected...... nope.... looked like an accident in a paint factory.:rotfl:

I will be packing the glow sticks this time!!! You live and learn.:goodvibes

I know it probably wasn't funny at the time but :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Sorry, had to get that out the way first. Were they not individually sealed and wrapped?

Thanks glad to entertain:goodvibes

- they were "mainly" wrapped - except for the bulk buy bracelets that the kids prefer - thin tubes that you join with a plastic bit - so think about 6 of the bracelets - all colours!!! split - about 8 of the others didn't split but glowed and about 6 survived!! One of the wrapped sticks on a lanyard was glowing when we opened it too. I guess our case was thrown about a bit!! Or something bashed into the top of it. (have seen the carts driving over cases before so who knows....)

Yes, I have had mine be a victim of the business end of a fork lift. Result: my knickers arrived on the carousel .... one by one .... before the damaged bag showed up! :rolleyes1

I will double seal the glo stick packs in ziploc bags. Thanks for the warning. I would never have thought of that since they are already wrapped.

It is funny now. But it was a situation where it was quite easy to make the decision to grab my bag and proceed to make a claim, leaving the stray garments to cruise around on their own without laying any claim of ownership to them. :rolleyes1
