We bought direct from DVC last week for AKV and have been waighting on our paper work to come and finalize everything. We were told we would have it by last Friday and it didn't show. I called my guide and he said they are really busy at the moment and it'll be here by Wednesday. I won't to get started with my booking and feel there's nothing going to be available by the time we're finished.

Oh well, at least we're in.

Have they charged your deposit? If so, I am pretty sure that you can begin booking. After all, they will just cancel every reservation if in the end the deal falls through.

If you have already paid, more then likely you can start booking. On our last add-on, we called in the morning and was in the system by the evening. We had used the new add-on points and the developer points 3 days before the paper work came via fedex.

This last add-on, the paper work came 8-9 days after our purchase. Normally we had gotten our contracts in 2 days. They are really busy right now. Call MS or your guide and see if you can start making reservations.

I bet you're right. I've talked to DW and we're just going to drop by on Tuesday and finalize everything.

If you've paid a deposit, you can go ahead and book vacations. The vacations just have to occur after your final closing, which should be within a couple of weeks of signing and submitting your paperwork. They are required to wait for the 10-day recision period provided by law.

But you can make reservations now.

I'm not sure you have to wait until closing to take a trip. There is something in the documents about deducting the cost of your stay from your deposit if you take a vacation on points and then cancel your purchase.
