Taking Food to Go?

Looking back over a few pages of posts it looks like there is no problem with getting a dessert at a table service restaurant to go and you can also get your counter service items to go. But it looks like you cannot go to a table service place and get meals to go - at least not all of them. But what if part of your party is unable to be at the table service place? For example, we will be going as a party of 3 adults and 3 kids (one under 3 so not on the dining plan). What if one of the kids were sick and an adult had to stay in the room with him/her. Would the rest of us be able to go in for table service and bring 1 adult and 1 child meal back to them to go? Or if my husband and I had a date night and used 2 adult credits and my sister stayed behind to babysit, could we then bring back 1 adult and 2 kids meals?

You can ASK. Most restaurants will say no, as the kitchens are staffed to handle the in-house diners only. They don't also have the manpower/time to prepare food for diners not present.

You may find a restaurant that will make an exception, but it WILL be an exception.

we did this - once at Kona Kafe - just went to the check in hostess and asked her if I could get 2 TS to go - she gave the menu, I ordered, she gave me a pager, and I wandered till it went off~ I have to say, it was a nice respite to eat in the room!

another trip we had dd health problems, so we brought her with us to the Cali Grille, she only wanted a flat bread pizza - the Waitress said we HAD to use 2 TS for her, but we could take it to go - so we did, it made a wonderful lunch the next day!
