I'm so glad to hear that Hazel is doing so much better. Getting better has to be a great birthday gift.

Very good news that Hazel is doing better.:sunny: I will keep her in my prayers.

God Bless your DW. What an ordeal. I'm glad that things are progressing in a better way for her since the hip surgery. It is amazing to see how fast people recover from that. My grandfather had his hip replaced 4 years ago, right before his 91st birthday and he was up and about again very fast.

Take care of the polyps as soon as Hazel feels up to it. If it's nothing, you'll be relieved. If it is something, it sounds as if it is caught soon enough to be fully curable.

I'm sure that Angelina is doing a fine job of taking care of you, and you her. A Mom is the glue that holds everything together... and has to remember everything for everyone, so I hope that Hazel is home very soon.

Prayers have been said for you and yours.

Continued good wishes to Hazel, Angelina and yourself.

I'm sure if it was very serious the Dr would make more of an issue to do something about the polyps pdq, so take some comfort in that.

I once spent 10 days in hospital with my DS when he was a tiny baby, due a problem he had ,and it can all get a bit depressing stuck in there surrounded by illness and the 'real' world seems very far away.

I would imagine Hazel can't wait to get home to you both (and the dog :))!

It looks like next Wednesday will be the earliest before Hazel comes home. My insurance company will pay for a week for her to be in the step-down unit. Believe me, the step-down unit is very nice, she has a private room, and it is quite peaceful in there. I wish I had a room in there for a week, that's as long as I could have my laptop plugged in so I could search the DISboards!!!
We are anxious to have her home though, it just dosen't feel like "HOME" without her here.

Yes, just one missing person can make the family home seem very empty and different.

Pity you can't all stay in there with her :)

How great she has a private room. When my husband had his bypass surgery his step down unit was semiprivate and he couldn't wait to get out of there.

Angelina and I just came home from visiting Hazel, her spirits are good, and she is starting to get around better, she walked up and down the hallway with her walker this afternoon.

The social worker came in while we were there and we were asking her about the private room. She told us that this was one of only a very few hospitals that offer the private room step-down unit or transitional unit as they call it. It is so nice for the patients and their families!!!

I apologize for getting in so late to wish Hazel well. Hope she will be back to her old self in no time flat!

Sending pixie dust and good healing thoughts her way!

Thanks Blondie,

Hazel just called me a few minutes ago. She was able to get herself up out if bed with no help last night. She took a couple of walks (using her walker) to the nurse's station and back. Laying in bed for so long has been very difficult on her. Hazel is the kind of person that always has to be on the go. Speaking of on the go, I better get to the store, or Angelina and I won't be eating this week. Angelina went to a sleepover last night, so now is the perfect time to get the shopping done. How do you women do all the stuff you do!!!

Thanks for the updates! I missed the last few but it sounds like she is doing much better now. I do hope that the doctor is right and the polyps aren't anything to be overly concerned about. Continued good thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery :)

Yay for Hazel! She sounds like an awesome lady and an inspiration. :)

Nice horse Deb.

Andy, I know just how Hazel must feel - it would drive me mad to be stuck in bed. I'm sure it's very good for her recovery that she is getting up and about.

And ladies, here we have a man who sees, understands and appreciates the female of the species ability to multi-task :) Three cheers for Andy who's keeping the home fires burning...or at least the driveway clear of snow!! ;)

Have a good weekend.

Thanks, Neo. I'll pass that along to my daughter. :) He's her baby and pretty special. PS: Sorry Andy, didn't mean to derail the thread but Neo doesn't have PM.

Thanks for the updates VM!

I'm so glad Hazel is recovering pretty well!

You are a terrific husband and dad! Keep up the good work!

Hey Neo Old Chum,

Did you have to mention the "S" word. I walked out the door this morning to go to the store, and I saw these little white things falling from the sky, and I statred to cry, LOL!!!

I have to go pick Angelina up from her sleepover, then run up to see my precious DW and take her some Diet-Pepsi and a peach tastykake pie. I imagine only those people who live in, or are from, my neck of the woods would understand what a tastykake is.

Well, it's out the door again DIS'ers, will check back on the boards later! :)
