Taking DH to the Surgeon Tonight

Don't worry about TMI. I'm a grown up. I can take it. ;) I understand about needing someone to talk to.

You are in my prayers. :grouphug:

Sending pixie dust your way! :wizard: :grouphug:

I, too, had a colonoscopy because of bleeding. Turned out to be internal hemmeroids as well. Here's wishing the same for your husband!

I'm so sorry you are going through this :grouphug: Hopefully it will be an easily solved issue and life will get back to normal for you... in the meantime, stay strong.... easier said than done I know, but try :grouphug:

Thank you for your concern, prayers and PD. It was an awkward ride to the doctor's office and an even worse wait in the waiting area.

He doesn't need a colonoscopy. He has internal hemmoroids. Thank God!!! The surgeon did a short scope and told him what he found. He told him to put witch hazel on cotton balls and keep them in "the area" several times a day to dry them up. He's been told to lay off the exercise bike for a while and to find some other exercise that he can do to supplement the bike instead of doing that every day. He wants an eliptical machine now. I told him that's fine. I'll buy him one for Christmas.

So, we get to keep him! My DS kept asking why I was smooching so much with Daddy last night because every time I'd walk by him, I'd kiss him. I told him that it was because I was so happy that Daddy was OK. The kids are happy, too, even though they had no idea what there was to be concerned about.

I just really needed to get everything off my chest last night. You guys are true angels for listening and caring.

Oh thank God!! I'm so happy for you. And yep, the bike will make those things worse.

Have a happy day!! :sunny:

I am so glad he is o.k. You must be so relieved.

I'm going to be real honest here.

The short scope is like having a mammogram on one side only. The Dr. can not visualize the entire colon.

Please get the colonoscopy! I know of what I speak. I'm sure everything is fine but why not get the test anyway?

Glad to hear it was not as bad as you were imagining....life can be frightening, eh??

Now, I have to ask....what's an eliptical machine??

Well, I've never seen one of those before! WOW, your guy must really be into exercising!! ;) I can see why he would have to relax it for a few days!!

:grouphug:Glad your DH got good news. My DH woke me up one night about 10yrs ago to show me blood in the toilet. Apparently it had been going on for several weeks, but that night for some reason he got scared. I took him in the next day and had the colonoscopy scheduled(he was 37). Thankfully, it wasn't cancer, but he did have mild Crohn's disease, which he treats occasionally still.

I'm just now finding this. What a relief that it isn't anything really serious. I know you had a scary time, though.

Katholyn
