We are going in Oct and I was wondering if we should plan a break each day since the temps won't be as bad as in the summer. My kids are 7 & 9 and pretty much can go and go when they are having fun :teeth: We do want to go back to the resort a couple of days for swimming but should I plan a break for each day with the parks closing earlier in Oct too? This is our first trip with kids and DH and I haven't been in 13 years, wanting some advice from your experts :cool1:

I guess that the break you want depends on how many days you are spending at WDW. If you have 3-4 days, then I would suggest going "commando" and make sure you see all that you want to, seeing as how you dont go to WDW all that often.
If you have a week however, then that if more than enough time to relax the whole time, yet be able to do it all.
The kids have unlimited stamina......its just their attention span that is nanoseconds probably......if you have to wait in lines and that starts to sour their mood, consider a break regardless.

We are going in October with DS9. I'm not planning breaks into every day. We have MNSSHP our second day and I am planning a midday break for rest and to get DS's costume from the room. The next morning we are having a late breakfast and then going to Epcot, which is a lot of walking but we can take it slow.

Our 5th day we could potentially be at MK from 8 AM breakfast until Midnight with EMH, so we'll see how that goes! If we do stay the WHOLE time then we will take it easy the next day. We are planning to go to MGM but if we get there later in the morning that's no big deal. Except for MNSSHP and MK EMH we won't be out all that late, so DS should still be in bed at a decent time. We were there for four days in January and he did fine with no breaks, but we weren't ever in the parks past 9 PM.

We went the first week of October last year and it was still in the mid 90's and very humid every day. I didn't notice when in October you were going. However, I've been in October several times and we've had it be always in the mid 80's then up to the mid 90's. I would play the afternoon breaks by ear, depending on how hot it gets.

Hi! We're going in October also. My kids are DD9 and DS6. We are not planning any breaks into the day....even the long days. We are going for 10 days. We do not do the parks every day, so the days we do the parks, we go all day. I know my kids would have a fit if we wanted to leave and go "rest". There wouldn't really be any rest...just a lot of whining!!!! :crazy2: The day we are going to MNSSHP we are not planning to go to any parks during the day....plan to go mini golfing, and head to MK around 4pm forthe party. Next day is not a park day either. You know your kids best.....Kathy :earsgirl:
