If we spend the day in MK and we have a 6pm ADR at Artist Point, what time would we have to head to the boat dock at MK to get to WL in time?

Would there be time enough after our dinner to catch the boat back to MK in time for the 9pm fireworks?

This would be in September, so slower season.

I guess what I'm asking is how long is the boat trip, and is there a set schedule of departure times?

Thanks! :)

Sue

I'd estimate that if you were at the dock by about 5:15 you'll have time. The boat ride is generally pretty quick once you're on it, so the biggest issue is how long you have to wait for one to come.

Remember, busses run between MK and WL as well, and they're a lot more reliable, and a lot faster.

Maybe you can save your boat ride for the ride back (subject to weather and hours of operation).

I'd say about 5:00 to be on the safe side, 5:15 should give you plenty of time though, as lond as you don't have to wait really long for a boat.

I would get to the dock at 5:00 just in case you just missed a boat and its 15 minutes before another one comes. This will allow plenty of time and you can always look around WL if you are too early for your ADR.

You will have plenty of time to make it back over to MK for SpectroMagic.

Oh--I didn't realize there was a bus! Does it go directly to and from MK/WL, or does it make other stops as well?

So the bus would be alot faster than the boat, right? A leisurely boatride would be nice, but I'm looking for efficiency here. :)

When we were there, we never stopped at another resort, either going to MK or coming from MK. I believe the bus came from Ft. Wilderness, and went to Ft. Wilderness after dropping us off.

After 3:00 pm the boat goes directly from MK to WL and the ride itself is about 10 minutes. Going from WL back to MK the boat stops at FW and then on to MK (after 3). This would probably take about 25 minutes. The bus ride is about 5 minutes.

I would take the boat just because it is such a nice ride and a nice way to get there, the walk from the dock o the resort is also nice, and you get the see the pool and they geyser. Enjoy your dinner it is a great restaurant.

I dont known if i read it wrong but if you are asking if there is enough time to get from WL to MK after a 6 oclock dinner at AP it all depends how fast you want to eat when we went there the meal took about 2 and a half hours but we tend to relax when we eat so it would be tight to get back for the 9 pm fireworks for us but I would guess it is possible to do but I would say you would have to leave the lodge by 8 to be safe. but thats me.

Just curious as I have never tried AP, but is there a dress code? I have heard it is a signature dining restaurant. Does that mean frou frou and that my kids are really not welcome?

Oops! Just saw the thread re: dress code and AP...sorry!

It's a rather mild dress code as you found out, and the place is still very kid-friendly. We just had the kids change into long pants and they were fine.
