I purchased a disposible B&W camera for our trip. Thought it would be different to have some B&W photos.

Has anyone done this and what did you photograph and how did it turn out?

I have been wondering the same thing! I would also love to hear anyone's answer.

Where did you find Black and White disposables if you don't mind my asking? I would love to take B& W's but don't want to have to take whole role at once. Thank You!

If you put your pictures on your computer (with a digital camera or scanning regular prints), you can use photo editing software to make any of your photos black and white. So you can take them in color, change them to black and white, and have a copy of each. :)

There was another thread on here a couple of months back talking about B&W photos and someone posted examples and they looked great. I plan on taking a few this year, but of course, they will be digital color and turned to B&W just as *********** suggested. Then I can print either for scrapping or framing.

Ooh! I just did this while on our trip in May! I bought a disposable B & W camera with about 24 pictures on it. I wanted to take shots of the main attractions...the castle, MGM "hat", ToT, Tree of Life, Spaceship Earth....I scrapbook so I thought it would be neat to have a black and white version of these as well as color. I'm really glad I did it...but the pictures I wound up liking the most were the few shots I took of my kids to use up more of the film. Try it...I think you'll like the differences in your pictures.

I found the black and white disposable camera at Best Buy or something like it. They also have them at pharmacies..( CVS, Walgreens, etc..) I went a little nutty and bought my boys each a disposable color camera to take their own shots as well. They were pretty funny!

We took digital pictures and then I edited a couple of them to be black and white. Two of them turned out great. One was of my kids and the other was of the gravestones outside of the Haunted Mansion.

They can also be printed in black and white at some locations.

The machine I used had the option of doing just that. Made for some interesting prints. I love black and white shots!!!!

From what I understand, black and white is really good for portraits. I have B&W film in my camera bag right now--I'm trying to decide if I should use it up ahead of time and get color for Disney or try some B&W at Disney. I think I'm going to try the latter! We'll see how they come out......

I'm planning on shooting our upcoming trip in digital so I can have the photos printed in black & white at Shutterfly. I scrapbook and we go to WDW a lot, so I want to do something "different" for this book. :)

Great minds must think alike!!! I got a B&W disposable camera specifically to use on our WDW trip. My husband loves B&W landscape photos (we have numerous Ansel Adams pictures in our home) so I thought it would be fun to get it and try it out - got mine at Target: Kodak 27 exposures. I can't wait to try it out and see what develops :p

Thanks for a great idea:) .

I saw these at Wal-Mart in the photo-developing section, but didn't give it much thought. I will pick up one or two B&W disposables the next time I shop there.. :)

Our digital camera takes black and whites as well as sepia. I love the options it has. If you have a digital camera check and see if it does this.

Ah, the beauty of digital. :)

Generally, black and white film, compared with color film:

1. Is more forgiving of exposure mistakes.

2. With flash, gives more shooting distance for the same film speed (a corollary of #1),

3. Lasts longer, both negatives and prints. After about 30 years, color film may be noticeably faded especially if not kept cool and dry.

4. Is much easier to develop yourself if you are a darkroom hobbyist.

But it may not necessarily be less expensive. Some photo labs treat it as a special order and charge more to develop it compared with C-41 color film.

Here are the same pics in both modes using a Sony digital camera.
