Taking a trip without blue membership card

Has anyone else gone to WDW as DVC members without their permanent membership card?

We recently returned our paperwork, were told we've been approved, but our closing doesn't actually happen until AFTER we make our first stay on points on 8/13.

Because we haven't closed, I'm not expecting to have our permanent membership cards, just the white paper ones.

We plan on using our new DVC membership for several things while we are there. We have already booked discounted LaNouba tickets, we plan on getting the free LaNouba pin, and plan to use the free valet parking at WL when we stay there for the first 2 nights of our trip.

Anyone else travel so soon after getting their DVC membership that they don't even have their cards yet? If so, was there any problem using the temporary cards?

The first time we went, we only had the paper cards, they worked fine. Even on our most recent trip, DW forgot her card and received a temp card, that was also accepoted without question.

Absolutely, we only had our temporary cards in April, but they worked just fine. In fact for valet parking at VWL and dining discounts at Olivia's we were asked if we were DVC, we said yes, and they never even asked for the cards. Of course, I wouldn't recommend anyone say yes and not have something to prove they were!

We never travel with our card.

I guess you only need it for discounts?

We don't pool hop, and we have had DDE for 5 years, so we always use that card for our dining discount...
