Hi all,

I think this is ok but wanted to confirm that. We can take a small soft side cooler into the MK correct? With some drinks and snacks?

Thanks!

Yes. There are specific dimensions but as long as it fits in a locker it is fine. It cannot have wheels though.

Disneyworld - yes. Disneyland has different rules.

Basically, as long as you carry it, they'll let you bring in anything. The issue they have is with anything you pull behind you - because it becomes a tripping hazzard.

Anything that is small enough that you are willing to haul it onto rides (since there really isn't a place to stash it) will be fine.

(We bring small backpacks for each person and wrap up cold drinks in hand towels. and skip the cooler).

No glass except for baby food. No alcohol. The soft sided cooler needs to be able to fit inside a locker at the park. So six pack or twelve pack size at the biggest.

We've always been able to bring a soft sided cooler in the parks with us. Just remember they don't let you bring in glass...so Snapples wouldn't be allowed. We pack bottled waters, our snacks and an icepack in the cooler. We also squeeze sandwiches in there too on days where we feel like bringing lunch.

At the four major parks (AK, DHS, EC, MK) coolers are restricted to "small, soft-sided, which can fit in a locker". And they cannot be rolling bags.

The only restrictions that apply to all parks (theme and water) are nothing in glass containers (other than medicines and baby food) and no alcoholic beverages.

Some things people don't think about (which tend to be in glass) are pickles, salsa, Mayonnaise, Starbucks drinks, Snapple drinks, Tabasco.

At the water parks any type or size cooler is acceptable. I have seen people come through the gate (Typhoon Lagoon) hauling wheeled coolers about 4' x 3' x 2½'. Note that the cooler can be on two wheels or carried, but the way the rules are written you can not have it in a wagon and it cannot have four wheels.

If you show up at the gate with prohibited items we will give you three choices:
(1) Take prohibited items back to your car or resort.
(2) Put prohibited items in the nearby trash can.
(3) (Only for other than alcoholic beverages) If you have plastic bags or cups you can dump the items out of the glass containers and throw away the container.

We pack a soft sided cooler into our backpack (for additional insulation and portability). We put ice in a ziplock on the bottom, then our sandwiches, then ice in a ziplock on top, then other things like grapes, crackers, beef jerky, larabars, etc. Worked great for a cheap lunch in the park whenever we happened to be hungry, without having to stand in line for a counter service restaurant. Find a shady bench and have a picnic!! :thumbsup2 Then since lunch would be light, we would eat an early dinner around 4:30 to beat the restaurant crowds.
