taking a pic of your ring question...I feel so dumb!

hey girls! I feel like such a dummy. some of you have taken beautiful pics of your e-rings and wedding bands and put them on here and htey look so clear and nice...whenever i try to take a pic of mine it comes out all blurry and weird looking what am i doing wrong? any tips? i have been wanting to take a pic of my whole set together since the wedding but can't figure it out! thanks!

You have to have macro mode. Check out your user guide.

Try using a soft flash.. Or go into a well lighted room and remove the flash from your camera... I had that same problem so I removed the flash from my camera..

hhmm macro mode eh? I my camera is 3 yrs old and gone through 3 moves, i will see if i can find my users manual! haha

If you can't find your user manual, look for a flower icon on the camera. This usually indicates macro mode. If that doesn't help, you might be able to find the user manual for your camera on the internet.

Try to keep your camera steady. It helps if you can sit the camera somewhere and set it on timer. Even when you think you're holding it steady, there's a slight movement when you press the shutter button to take your picture.

You don't need a tripod to sit the camera down. A bean bag works well, but not everyone has one. Since you're at home, use a towel or shirt and scrunch/fold it into a shape that can keep the camera positioned.
