Hi everybody!

I have a friend who is in the midst of going through a (somewhat amiable) divorce. She has 3 year old twins, so as you can imagine, she doesn't get much "adult" time.

I decided to treat her to a trip to DLR next month. Her ex has agreed to watch the kids. She is beyond excited!!! She has been to DLR before, but never without her children. I want this trip to be spectacular for her!

Besides going on rides that she normally couldn't go on because of the children (i.e. Space Mountain, California Screamin', etc.) What are some things to do? I have a few ideas, but would love to hear from all of you! Thanks in advance!

How about the spa at the Grand Californian? Or dinner at the Napa Rose? Although those are certainly not inexpensive options.

Hubby and I love the cove bar at DCA when we are there without the kids. They serve adult beverages and there is a great view.

Trader Sams at the DLH! And of course, all the rides that her kids would be too small to go on anyway. Oh, and a meal at Carthay Circle for WOC package.

I personally haven't gone to Trader Sams, so this would be new for both of us!

Unfortunately, WOC is down for refurb, or I would have seriously considered the WOC package. :(

Trader Sam's for sure and get one of their specialty drinks in the awesome glasses as this would not be something she would do with little kids! We are going in March and are going to Trader Sam's for the first time and can't wait.:cool1:

Have her try one of these Uh Oa drinks.

We are going next week, group of 6 adults with all offspring left home. I've been reading various lounge menus and think hitting up lounges for munchable meals will be a fun way to try lots of flavors (both the grub & drinky-drinks). No reservations needed. We're going to just enjoy soaking in anything that comes to mind without having to be parental units first. Ya know?

I think that adult time would be slowing down, way down and seeing Disneyland as never seen before because children are pulling on you or pushing you to the next attraction.

Little tricks to know to show to her children on the next visit.

Watch for the jumping fish

Watch the flag ceremony

Watch random shows on the streets

Esmeralda, Shrunken Ned, Fortune Red

Ride the Top of the omni bus

Explore the train station arcade

Creep slowly inside the Indy tunnel, so much is missed when pulled by children or even pushed from behind by adults.

pet cemetary

The brass/ gold spike....a good place to start a treasure hunt to find all things brass in the park... for the brass spike is nothing more than the beginning.

The masts

Ride Pinocchio three times in a row and see what has been stolen. ( Which I think is one of the top five trivia questions about Disneyland)

Ride Snow white three times in a row and find out what she is baking.

Window displays.

Be sure to see the awesome shows that can be difficult for small kids to sit through - Aladdin at CA, Mickey's Magical Map at DL. Stop and watch the street performances in both parks. Now that my kids are older, I love that we can slow down and take random breaks during the day. Get a coffee or a snack, find a nice place to sit, relax, take in the atmosphere, plan your next few activities rather than running from place to place. Also, look at the menus on www.allearsnet.com and find places to eat that you normally wouldn't take the kids. If there's a counter service place your friend has been avoiding because they don't have food her kids would like, here's her chance to try it. I've never been to the Cove Bar at CA, but have heard they have great drinks and appetizers. It would also be a good time to slowly wander around Downtown Disney. Browse the stores at your leisure. Have a nice meal and relax. Go back to the parks and stay late. Have a great trip!:)
