Has anyone here done this (i'm sure there are) and how did it turn out ?
We know this boy and he is well behaved and listens very well, discipline will not be a problem. We have informed his parents (without either of the kids knowing about this) and have given them the $ on flight and tickets. They will let me know this evening (hopefully the flights will still be available, as we have already booked our flights for the trip)
Just wanting to know input and the great DIS'ers feedback. :worship:
I don't know if I'm very excited about this or will be dreading it closer to time of our vacation. :confused3 :scared1:
Thanks!

We let our oldest ds bring a friend the last time we went. Both boys were 14 yo. It was great! We let the older boys go on their own (in the same park we were in) and with cell phones it wasn't a problem. It was a little pricey, those teen boys eat alot, but well worth it.

I think this is a great idea. :goodvibes My little sister got to bring a friend along to WDW and it worked out great-made four people total so everyone had a ride buddy if needed. We now have 5 in our family-I plan on letting my boys take turns bringing a friend to WDW when they get a little older.

Not at disney because we're in the UK but my eldest (dd10) is "vacation buddy" for one of her good friends who is an only child who is now at the age where vacationing with her mom & grandma doesn't have the same sparkle as being able to take a friend does. I know my dd10 loves being able to have the time to experience life without us LOL and spend time with her friend and her friend enjoys being able to have a pretend sister for a few days

Well good! Thanks for all the feedback.
I do feel better about this now.
We always said that when he got older (meaning around this age, 12 going on 13) that we would let him bring a buddy but when it came down to it,...I started getting cold feet. But I can always count on my fellow dis'ers to help me out and make me feel better.
Thank you! :hippie:

I also have an only child, so i anticipate bringing friends on lots of vacations in the future. Hope all goes well for you guys!
