Has anyone taken a 6 month old baby to the parks in June? We are planning a trip for June 2015 and I just wanted some feedback about the heat and experience with a baby of that age. We will also be taking our 3 year old son. I am a teacher, so we don't have many options of when to travel. Thanks!

We took a seven month old in November so I can't help with the weather. I was surprised though that our dd really enjoyed it. She LOVED the characters. I have a picture of her biting Minnie's nose. :rotfl:

We had a stroller with a great canopy (Cybex onyx) and the performance ergo and the freehand mei tei baby carriers. I used skip hop saddle bags for extra storage on the stroller (I think they have been discontinued unfortunately). A good stroller and baby carriers were essential for us!

We just returned from Disney on Thursday. We took a 22 month old and a 6 month old. I found that going in the evenings was more enjoyable than being out in the Midday heat. The first 2 days we were in the parks during the midday heat and we spent a lot of time trying to keep the babies cool.

Nope, I don't think so. (joking)

Good luck, enjoy your trip!

We took our son last August - he turned 8 months the day before we left. We did mornings and evenings and went back to resort for midday. We rented a City Mini stroller since it has a better cover than ours and I wore him a lot (hats and sunscreen were critical). We made sure he stayed cool with a fan, water and going in air conditioning whenever we could. We had a great experience. Good luck! And DH is a teacher so I completely understand about timing. Look into getting some Frogg Toggs...we found ours at the Dick's Sporting Goods near us. They are awesome for helping keep baby cool, but not wet!

I have fond memories of traveling with a 6 month old in June. I did not set out to plan a trip with a 6 month old, but we had the trip planned before we knew we would have a 6 month old. We had a tradition of celebrating 5th birthdays for our kids at Disney, and child #3 was 6 months away from that special trip when child #4 (a surprise) was born.

Our older kids were 5, 9, and 10 that trip, and our baby seemed to have as much fun as everyone else. Baby slowed us down at times, but that was not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, I think that trip was harder for the newly minted 5 year old who was wore out by the heat and walking.

I agree that a good stroller and a fan are key. Our baby was accustomed to being around lots of people since she was always at events and activities for the older kids, so we did not find that the crowds and sights over stimulated her.

Our only issue was sleeping at night (she was used to grabbing naps on the go), because the baby wanted the quiet of her room and crib. I stayed with the baby in the hotel room while dad and the older ones spent nights in the parks. I am sure you will figure out the rhythm that works best for your family.
