I am using a conference my husband has in Orlando as an excuse to take our 4 and 1 year olds to the parks! We are doing 5 days, Oct 10-14. My husband will join us on the first and last day, but the middle 3 days I'll be flying solo. I will be 9 weeks pregnant. A few questions...

Obviously we won't be doing any big rides since I'll be pregnant and with a 1 year old. I know we'll take it super slow and spend more of our time meeting characters, eating, and just enjoying the parks. I have passes for Magic Kingdom twice, then the rest of the parks once each. I also have Park Hopper. I figure Magic Kingdom will have the most for us to do. Is that pretty accurate? Is there anything particularly cool for these ages? Actually, looking at it, our Magic Kingdom days are the two days my husband will be with us, so I'm doing the other 3 parks solo.

Is it normally hot in October? I see temps look roughly high of mid 80s which doesn't sound too bad to me. Should I bring a fan? I want to pack as light as possible so I'm not lugging/pushing a ton of stuff through the parks.

I have a Bob double stroller and a Summer Infant 3D Lite double stroller. I was planning on bringing the Summer Infant one because it's more like a double umbrella stroller and sounds easier to manage folding up for the bus. Is that a mistake? The bob is so smooth but so heavy, so I'm torn!

Any other tips? Am I crazy? Thank you!!

You will be fine! Just take it slow. The seas at Epcot will keep the kids entertained for hours and turtle talk with crush is so cute and your 4yo will love it!! There isn’t a lot to do at AK. Make sure you get in the shows!! HS has Disney Jr stuff that is really cute. Meet some characters along the way, eat some food, and have fun!! Sounds like an amazing time 😎

So, you are not crazy. I would totally take advantage of the trip too. All the parks have some neat aspects for your kids but I'd say MK will have the most to do since it's so large. Do a little research on each park and find out what you think your 4yo would enjoy and focus on those attractions or meet and greets. DHS is not a lot of rides for littles and a lot of shows. Great Disney Jr meet and greets and dance party. AK is great if you think your 4yo would love all the animals and probably a good park for when you need a break since it closes early.

Oct is still hot in central FL and most of the south. Not sure where you are from but October isn't as balmy as July/August but it's definitely not chilly. Yes, bring a fan, a stroller fan, sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, everything you would bring for summer trip. Definitely bring the lighter stroller since you're solo and you will have your hands full. As long as the baby can sleep in the lite stroller, I'd choose that. Also, if you don't have a bag hook for it or an under-mount basket, I'd be sure you have that along with a caddy for the stroller handles to help keep your hands free for your phone, drinks, snacks, etc.

It's gonna be hot. Bring the stroller and take it easy! Don't overlook EPCOT - lots of places to sit and cool off plus fun playgrounds for the kids (Mission Space, Wall-E, splash pad, trains in Germany).

I'd vote for the double stroller without a doubt,it will help you keep the 2 kids corralled easily when you're on your own. Even tho it's heavier, you're going to be glad you have it! Also, I doubt park hopper will be of much use to you except on the days when you have your hubby with you...park hopping takes a long time out of your day,and is pretty strenuous with 2 littles and a stroller etc. I'd advise one park per day, esp. on your 'lone parent' days. You'll only go on kiddie type rides anyway due to the kids ages,so no worries there, let them enjoy all the play areas and chill along the way!

Stay hydrated and make sure kiddos are too - I’ve done Disney pregnant - take it slow - don’t set expectation - take it as it comes - yes it’s hot - take breaks - see what you can - do what you can - enjoy air condition places for breaks - Hall of Presidents - nice quick nap for kids - don’t overdue it - Disneys is not going anywhere
Don’t let people tell you - your crazy - enjoy yourself - just don’t set high expectations as you have two little ones and your pregnant / slow and easy - you will be fine - see what you can and take breaks - stay hydrated - Have a great time !!!

I have done Disney pregnant with two littles and have done solo with 3. Just remember that for kids as young as yours, even a boat ride to one of the hotels or Ft. Wilderness is as exciting as a ride in the park. If you need to get them a little down time, take the boat and let them play on the playground at Ft. Wilderness.

Since dates have passed: for anyone traveling while heavily pregnant:

No heavy lifting. So take the foldable double (lightweight). I don’t know how you’re going to manage 2 kids who can potentially runaround at a bus stop or walk away and a diaper bag and cups… it was hard enough with my family helping with 1 kid. My husband would carry her brother during ride waits in our Colugo carrier on the bus with the convertible diaper bag on his back while I dragged our stroller and our teen held other bags (easy to get on and off).

I had to carry our then almost 3 year old up the stairs at TSMM (temper tantrum) while pregnant. I had mild pain and lots of back pain afterwards (I had SCH from a fall/slip down 7 stairs early in the second Trimester and our DD now has developmental delays). Just don’t risk it.

Dehydration is very real. Carry Liquid IV electrolytes (available on Costco). Pedialyte packets don’t cut it and I still had muscle cramps

Per the dates she posted, she is home now.
