Hello,
I have no children and my husband, sister, mother and I will be taking my 12 yr old nephew (brothers son) in Oct...

Does anyone have any good suggestions? I have no children and have never travelled with children, so I am lost....

What would be some cool things a 12 yr old boy would like, that I shouldn't miss? Any suggestions would do ;)

Thanks...
Shannon

DisneyQuest (in DTD), Epcot's Future World and MGM all came to mind as good things for a 12 yo boy. The water parks would be good also. Have fun.

DH and I took our Godson (13) last year. He was very interested in all things computer oriented. Disney Quest was a big hit, as were all of the interactive displays in Future World. He loved Typhoon Lagoon. He also really enjoyed dinner at Chef Mickey's (which surprised us because we were not sure if it was "cool" for a 13 year old). Each day we spent the mornings in the parks, took a break and went back to the resort to relax a few hours in the afternoon and then hit the parks until close. Even though he was 13 at the time, the breaks really rejuvinated his energy each day and I would recommend considering it for you and your nephew too. We also had a special gift basket sent to him from Disney Florist that he was really thrilled about.

All great ideas already given... also....

If he likes sports maybe a dinner at ESPN Club on the BW and dessert at Beaches and Cream (at BC) or BW Bakery. Maybe rent a surrey bike there too.

Pin trading, most older kids really get into that.

Shows at MGM like Indiana Jones and don't miss Fantasmic.

Thank you for all your wonderful ideas!!!!! I just bought him Birnbaums Disney World For Kids by Kids and he was getting so excited reading it.....

I can't wait until he gets off the plane and see's the sign "Walt Disney World"......I'll probably be the big sap crying...He's never been, so he has no idea what to expect. He thinks Disney is like a Six Flags park....He is in for sucha surprise!!!!

Thanks again,
Shannon

Renting a water mouse boat would be a good idea. Our 3 ds love to drive them around. Our dss also love disney quest and this time they did parasailing which was o.k. and they have done the kids fishing trip in the past. Not too expensive. The family trip for bass up to 5 people is expensive though $200 plus. There is just so much to see and do and I am sure your nephew will not be bored. Guess maybe after looking at the guide you might ask him what restraunt he would like to go to and make a Priority Seating for it so you are guaranteed to get in. Get Fast Passes for all the rides he chooses. If they are not for you, too fast etc. Grab a snack, sit on a bench and people watch until he comes out. My kids also like being able to have charging privileges on their cards. This was for a meal/snack and souvenirs only within our strict guidelines. This will only work if you are staying at a WDW resort, you didnt mention where you are staying. It made them feel grown up and responsible. Let him plan a few things so he feels like he is part of it and not just being towed around etc.
